My mom is funny. Her favorite flowers of mine are always the last ones she saw me do. And since I’ve already posted the last ones I made, I’m sharing some yellow flowers in my “day late” Mother’s Day post. Yellow always reminds me of my mom. Yellow says sunshine, hope, laughter, warmth, happiness, and energy — all the things my mom has always been to me. She is the life of the party, and the most fun person I know. No joke, I think growing up my friends preferred to hang out with my mom more than me. 😂 My son described her as the fun grandmom when he was little and featured a photo of her with a hula hoop on his kindergarten “get to know me” poster. She was 79 at the time. My mom is the most constant person in my life, forever my biggest supporter and most fervent cheerleader. She shares my joys and my sadness, helps me with laundry and dishes, and is my best unpaid employee. She is where I got my love of entertaining and gardening, how I learned the importance of tradition, of family, of connection and of having fun. I was lucky yesterday to spend Mother’s Day with my most favorite people: my mom and my two loves who made me a mom.
