One of the most successful smile parades to date in my book. Probably because it was our first Theme ride for going to The pop-up CIRCUS ๐ช ๐ Bar.

I got my first Booking & Rave Review on AIRBNB Experiences!
โWow!! My partner and I have lived in Toronto all our lives, and this was the most magical and memorable way we've ever experienced the city! Natalie had told us before our bike ride that smiles were contagious, but I could never have imagined how much joy our little parade of three could spread -- biking through Toronto all decked out in flowers, the entire city was smiling back at us, waving, and cheering us on! This experience brought my partner and me so much joy on his birthday, and I'm pretty sure it added years to our lives

Have you ever biked to the lighthouse in Port Credit? ๐ฒ
I found my Flower Bike Soul Mate on a ride to Port Credit in 2017. It has now become a ( nearly) yearly tradition to take a picture with this piece of flower art as an excuse to take a beautiful day ride.

Grateful to the beautiful Smile Paraders that joined me for the Polka dot Island Parade this past Sunday with an extra special concert at one of my favourite places to sing in the city ... the Death Star!!! ( aka sundial folly ) . ๐ฆ๐ป๐๏ธ Thanks to everyone who came out to make it even more special.

New Flowers ๐ New Day ๐
Grand Finale of the 2 hours of biking accomplished before 8:15am and one glorious sunrise. Feeling grateful to have shared the sunrise with some bike minded early risers, a beautiful butterfly ๐ฆ and a very special bubble lady who organized this morning meet up.
I am a very open person and I believe sharing our experiences can be invaluable. Recognizing that even when everything in your life seems to be going right... We must accept the limitations of our bodies. Depression is something that can arrive and Its hard to remember it as something that is ON you not something that is intrinsic and defines your character. Sometimes there is just no logical reason why. Life is often mysterious like that. Even the most positive sparkly beautiful people who bring so much smiles and joy to others have their own internal battles. You don't see that on Instagram posts often but everyone has their cross to bear.
We are in this together! Wishing everyone a beautiful day full of self care and self love despite what you might be going through remember to be gentle with yourself. It's all part of the journey and you are not alone.

Day 4/5 spotting the sunrise from Wallace Ave Pedestrian Bridge with my ButterflyMan ๐ฆ grateful to have loved ones in my life who show up for me. And care about my mental health.
Despite having an incredible support network I often have to rely on myself to create the conditions for good mental health. I do yoga and put a sticker on my calendar, I shower and get dressed and I journal for 10 minutes/morning pages. And sometimes it's still a rainy day in my mind despite my best efforts. โ๐ง๏ธโ๏ธ
The pandemic was a great challenge and took me on a path where I had more anxiety than ever before. I learned a lot from my sister who has battled depression and is a mental health warrior. I started my own journey with doctors who suggested escitalopram/ anti depressants as a method to battle these dark days when everything that comes to mind feels bad and overwhelming.
We need to talk more about these things so we can normalize trying new methods to cope and learn to manage. I'm always here to talk and there's always someone on the other side of the phone at CAMH, knowledgeable about the tools we can try on the path to better mental health. It's a tough journey but you are not alone.
