My name is Joe May. I am an Independent Wedding Celebrant.

The fact is many people do not want to marry in a church. Or are not allowed to for a variety of reasons.

As an independent celebrant I am a member of the Fellowship of Professional Celebrants.

I can work with you to create a ceremony that reflects who you are. Designed around you, for you, with you, the ceremony will be utterly unique and deeply meaningful. Right for you. A bespoke and intimate ceremony at a location of your choosing.Absolutely anywhere!

Every couple is different and so every ceremony should be so also. This is your chance to stand up and say what you mean to each other, why you want to marry and what you hope for in the future.

Trained and accredited by the Fellowship of Professional Celebrants, I can give as much or as little help as is needed to make your ceremony absolutely you.

Readings, music and poetry all go a long way in personalizing the occasion, but there are so many other ways you can involve your guests and make your ceremony the rightful focus of the whole wedding celebration.

Guests will go away feeling they have been part of something real, and truly special.

The wedding couple sign the relevant legal papers at their local registry office, with two witnesses, any time before their personal meaningful wedding ceremony takes place. Or if they choose the wedding ceremony can come first, and the legal papers can be signed later. It is not legally necessary to do both on the same day.

A celebrant can help create personalized ceremonies for any period in our lives. Naming ceremonies, weddings, leaving teenage joining adulthood, adoption ceremonies and renewal of vows.

An independent celebrant has the skills and experience to create and lead a deeply meaningful ceremony which is right for you.

"Hello hello or Ola ola!

Can't believe it's all over 😩😁 what a wonderful day we had. So many people said how amazing and moving the ceremony was, saying the words were beautiful and how it was done was how they wished they had done it.

We were so pleased we found you as a celebrant Joe. You couldn't have been more perfect for us. You were warm and funny and made us feel comfortable not only standing up in front of all those people but encouraging us as a couple to feel comfortable talking about things we hadn't talked about for a while through the questionnaire. It made us look at us and our relationship in a new light. Made us laugh, made Duggan cry a lot and mostly made people smile. There is a lovely photo of you with your hand on Duggan's back as he is just about to break out its very touching.

You need something on your website that shows how wonderful you are as a celebrant, more photos or feedback?? We can help with that if you need it. I think there are a lot of people like us out there who would be glad to have someone like you as their celebrant but I found it a little bit difficult to find you at first.

My mum and dad loved you too and the kids kept on about your tricks.

Hi Joe,

Just wanted to touch base with you as we begin to come down off cloud nine (although not really!).

We cannot thank you enough for the part you played in our wedding last weekend. So many of our guests believed you to be a close personal friend of ours, testimony to the personal and individual beauty of the ceremony.

It really was just the perfect day, capped off by us finally being able to reveal to our nearest and dearest that Libby is actually 16 weeks pregnant and expecting in May! Probably why the emotions were running so high between us.

It was an absolute pleasure to have met you and maybe one day our paths will cross again.
