At the midnight hour, Hot x Proxy punched it into overdrive.

No strangers to the local scene, the Proxy served up original jam after original jam with all the flair, fuzz and distortion alternative rock fans crave before paying homage to Wolfmother, Beastie Boys and Rage Against The Machine — a rock medley precursor to their annual Proxing Day show.

The elusive heavy rock foursome — whose previous incarnations harken back to days when the internet was in its infancy — blasted the stage with their unique brand of heavyweight power, precise riff work, raucous low end movement and tongue-in-cheek lyricism.

This was their only show of 2022; they left no face unmelted.

Presto Change-O — arguably the hardest working party band in town — kicked things off with an upbeat, genre-defying set of funky blues over top of rock and jazz-infused rhythms.

Presto's musicality was on full display from the jump, sounding almost Black Sabbath-esque at times while offering up enough of a distinctly experimental vibe to remind us we're on island time here in Newfoundland.
