We had the honor of catering a wedding this past weekend for a lovely couple. The love in the room was amazing and we were so grateful to be apart of Andy & Kristina's special day!

Thank you to our team who helped this event be a success and a special thank you to Vicki at St. Peter's for all her assistance. 🙏🏾

Our Buttermilk Biscuits w/honey butter and Citrus Glazed Salmon were favorites of the evening. Berry Salads, Herb Roasted Chicken, Mac & Cheese, and Southern Green Beans rounded out the menu. 🧡

We miss you all and hopefully you'll see more of us going into 2023!

Hi everyone! Time has really slipped away from us over this past month. I guess that's what happens when you now have 2 kids and you're sleep deprived! 😴

💥Quick update💥

We've decided to make a difficult decision to change our primary focus of Safi. We will mainly be focusing on our Catered Events, Baked Goods and new seasoning line 👀 moving forward. At this moment, this is the best decision for our family.

We still will be working out of the Cutting Board Downtown and if our schedules allow, the goal is to throw a Safi Soul Supper in every now and then.

As the summer approaches we'll be updating our website with more information regarding the baked goods and seasonings! We appreciate all of your support 🧡

Hi everyone! We'd love to introduce to you our newest sous chef, McKinsley Grace 🥰

We had a safe delivery and we're now home resting! Thank you for all your prayers. She didn't come as early as we thought, so we won't be offering anything for Easter this year!

We'll keep you updated on our next Safi Soul Suppers but we're still aiming for the end of the month! 🤗 We miss serving you all! See you soon.

Well, we thought we would be able to make it until the end of the month but it seems more and more like our baby girl may arrive before then!! 😁

We've decided not to offer our Safi Soul Suppers this Sunday just in case she does decide it's time. 📢

Chef Brandon does plan on offering Family Size Sides, Biscuits and Desserts for Easter. We'll get the menu posted soon! And Safi Soul Suppers will hopefully be back the Sunday following on April 24th ‼️

Thank you for your support and gifts over the last few months! You all are seriously the best! We ask for your prayers for a safe delivery and healthy baby! 🥰

About Us

Our chefs blend the recipes passed down through their families generations with modern influences to create custom menus sure to impress.

By using fresh ingredients, pure love and genuine recipes Safi Personal Events can create memories for you.

Chef’s Brandon and Tiera Sumblin are the founders of Safi Personal Events, LLC. Both are graduates of the College of Culinary Arts at Johnson & Wales University in Charlotte, NC. They began their careers working for top caterers and restaurants in Charlotte with Chef Brandon helping open 2 restaurants for Wolfgang Puck in both Charlotte and Palm Desert, CA. Upon graduation they relocated to Tiera’s hometown of Frederick, MD.

In 2015, along with Tiera’s parents Blanch and Ronnie Henry, they helped move the already established family business, Serenity Tearoom (est. 2005), to a larger location. With the move came a new menu development and the name was subsequently changed to Serenity Tearoom & Fine Dining. While at Serenity, Chef Brandon was able to showcase his creative cuisine which he described as Elevated Southern. Chef Tiera was in charge of the dessert menu and also helped her mom manage the front of house. It was truly a family affair! After 5 years Serenity was the #2 Tearoom in the United States on teamap.com and the #1 Overall Restaurant in Frederick on TripAdvisor.com. The family has also appeared on Food Network 6 times winning 5 competitions. Despite all the success and loving customers the family collectively decided it was time to slow down life. At the end of 2019 after nearly 15 years in business, Serenity served its last afternoon tea. Chef Brandon and Tiera were given the opportunity to take over the business but determined that with a 5 year old child at home, it just wasn’t the right time. Blanch retired and is now enjoying life with her Husband.
