TIME WARP Tuesday Raid Train, exclusively on Twitch, is a seven-hour, open format DJ showcase, with over 80 DJs in the rotation, in its second season. Thomas Culture is the third member of the trio of creatives, along with Tea Cup DJ and VJ OwenB that organize this project. Started during the Pandemic, as an outlet to DJ, quickly became a community-building platform. While some DJs make a living streaming most have forged a network of dance communities, DJ collectives and artists from across North America and the world.

Thomas Culture is a local DJ personality who works commercially as an Open Format entertainer, as well as, a multi genre DJ who has a passion for global underground dance music. With over 30 years of playing, producing events and promoting in major Cities across Canada, he lives and works out of Edmonton, AB.

Currently he is working with a dance company in Ontario and VJ Owen B on immersive performance theory in theatre and virtual environments.

VJ OwenB is one of the wizards who puts TIME WARP together, manages the TW Discord and is the resident After Dark DJ that caps the raid train off each week.

Owen is a dynamo and has many creative irons in the fire as he has been a digital media artist for over three decades. Currently, he is pursuing his doctorate in Computational Media Design where he focuses on game design research.

Owen has pioneered VJ performance in Alberta and has worked to move the role of the VJ from the background of the club experience to an active participant in the DJ booth.

Owen has a passion for the integration of technology and performance. As a lifelong hearing enhanced cyborg (Owen has been wearing hearing aids since he was 5 years old), Owen's worldview has been shaped by his experiences through technologies; even the most analog experiences have involved some level of tech.

The Twitch experience has challenged Owen to discover ways to create shared experiences and help his audiences have a sense of congregation, interaction, and energy influence in their online connections.

TIME WARP Tuesday Raid Train on Twitch was the idea of Tea Cup DJ. During the height of the pandemic they partnered with Thomas Culture and VJ OwenB to do this weekly showcase that is finishing it's second season the end of May. We will also be celebrating one year of going through a music wormhole with over 80 DJs from across North America, New Zealand and Australia.

Tea Cup DJ was raised on guitar solos and rock festivals, teacupdj is a multi-genre mixtress with a high-voltage passion for dressing up and dancing until sunrise. Since stepping behind the decks in 2012, she has developed a DJ style all her own, blending nostalgia and future classics into sets you’ll never forget.

Expect tech house, disco, dance pop, and wear something you can move all night long in because a teacupdj show will have you funking until you can’t funk no more. Stretch, hydrate, and put on something fabulous, it’s a tea party!
