Eek. Writing my vows to my husband was one of the more stressful elements leading up to my wedding day.

I mean how do I possibly capture everything this person means to me in a couple of paragraphs. TBH it's intimidating, especially if your partner is a little more eloquent with words.

Luckily for you, on the blog tomorrow I'm breaking down a fool proof structure for writing meaningful vows that help you communicate your love and communicate your commitment to the future you'll share!

Can you believe it? It's here! The 2022 wedding season will soon be underway. If you are putting the final details together or honestly stressed out of your mind about how much there is to do, then this post is for you.

We want to take a moment to pause with you and say Congratulations. Wedding Planning is HARD and you are doing it! Your wedding day is going to be beautiful and we are so proud of everything you are doing to make your day magical for yourself, your fiancé and your guests.

When I was in your shoes just last year. I was stressed out of my mind. Trying to make my limited budget (15k) work with the vision of the day I'd been dreaming about since I was a little girl.

I learned 3 things through that process.

1. The decor and florals are for just one day. That's it. Then they will be returned, sold or thrown away.
2. Giving up control will give you the best wedding day! I wish I would have given up all control. I was stressed and just wanted the timeline and ex*****on to be perfect. I was a coordinator and not a bride. Which wasn't fun for me.
3. I wish I would have communicated expectations to my fiancé and bridal party from the beginning.

All in all. Your greatest road bump will always be the way you allow yourself to feel. CHOOSE GRATEFULNESS and INTENTIONALITY!

I promise you friend as you approach your final days of wedding planning. The more control you can release towards your day. The more you can give ownership to other people (AKA delegating to others) the happier you WILL feel!

Oooooo.... I'm spilling the 🫖 on the BIGGEST task I see couples drag their feet on and HOW to avoid it for your wedding day.

⁉️Where will my guests sit⁉️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Let me break down your options suuuper quick! 😉
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1️⃣ Seating Chart: Used for assigning tables, 1 chart that guests can find their name on. Needed for Assigned Table but open seating. No additional cards are necessary WHEN you have buffet or family style.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2️⃣ Es**rt Cards: Used for assigning tables, individual cards that guests will find and take to their seats. Needed for Assigned Tables but Open Seating WHEN you have a plated dinner.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3️⃣ Name Cards: Used for assigning specific seats at a table. These are individual cards preset at the table so that guests sit by specific people.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4️⃣ Open Seating: Used for no formal dinner. Guests sit by whomever they want.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Whether you are assigning seats and tables or just tables. DO NOT ignore it until the last minute.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
INSTEAD create your guest list as RSVP's begin to pour in. Think about what groups of people would work well together making the actual assigning process SOOOOO much easier.

Okay. This might just be one of my favorite parts of my job and allows me to add a new job title to my day.

Hear me out. Ring Bearer and Flower Girl Coach.

AHHH. I love kids and actually used to run an after school coordinator.

So when it comes to helping the littles (or bigs) that are a part of your wedding day all my old techniques come out!

I love helping them be confident in their BIG job and helping them help you to have a magical day.

Let's face it, they are sooo cute but there is the what if variable. What if little Susie starts crying and refuses to throw the petals. Or what if Bobby runs around and goofs off or loses the rings.

Wanna know one of the BIGGEST ways to have productive, short and easy wedding planning with your fiancé? At the start of each month establish planning sessions that happen weekly or 2-3 times a month.

Why schedule sessions?

Scheduling sessions will help you avoid burnout and keep wedding planning fun. If you set each wedding planning session you know that those are the times for deep and intentional wedding planning. Allowing you to enjoy the other time and let's be real... live your life still!

So if you’re wondering if scheduling wedding planning sessions is for you, here are a few tangible questions to ask yourself…

✨ Am I stressed with wedding planning?

✨ Do I feel like my partner and I are aligned when it comes to wedding planning?

✨ Does wedding planning feel chaotic and overwhelming (there is too much to do and not enough time).

Is this ringing true? Well, friend- it's time to start taking advantage of planning sessions. I'm not leaving you hanging here are 3 tips for what to do in order to have productive sessions every time!

💥 Set 2-3 Goals for the Session. Ex: Guest List, Hotel Blocks and Color's.
💥Keep Wedding Planning Sessions under 4 hours.

If you find that you don't have the time to tie up all the loose ends and stay on track... it might be time to consider adding a wedding planner or coordinator to your team.

BOTTOMLINE: Use the 2 to 3 rule. 2-3 deep meetings a month with 2-3 tasks to work on.

➡️Once you have a list of all the items it's time to ESTIMATE out all the costs needed.

THE MOMENT THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING! My Yes moment. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I'm not going to lie. I was really suspicious the 3 months leading up to my engagement. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Anyone else this way? I can't be alone in this. haha⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I was so excited to marry my best friend!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But if I'm honest, I was also feeling the pressure of fitting my wedding into my work schedule. I knew that 2022 was going to be a jam packed year and I didn't want to sacrifice any of my already booked couples experiences for my own. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This meant I had a 7 month window in 2021 to get engaged, plan a wedding and say "I Do!". ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The only problem? I had to wait to be proposed to in order to start any planning! I'm not the most patient person when it comes to waiting for something like this. I want to be surprised but I also like to prep and have control. I did my nails every single week for two and a half months. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I WAS READY AT ANY MOMENT!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When it finally happened, I was elated! BUT a part of me was having trouble enjoying the moment, I wanted to propel into wedding planning moment. Anyone else feel this way?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But Trevor and I did something that I would highly recommend to all couples. Take a beat. Take a moment to announce your engagement publically. Call your family and loved ones. Celebrate your engagement! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Then once you've had a chance to take a moment and breathe in this next phase of life... start moving into the planning process. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

It's not going to be easy, you'll be asked about wedding dates and 1 million other questions. But just let people know that you'll let them know the details soon! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
