I grew up on a farm when I was a child and one of my favourite memories as a kid was jumping in the car with my family and driving 2.5 hours to the nearest beach. It was a rarity and such a special time especially in summer on 40+ degree days when I would plonk myself on the cold tiles on the patio just to stay cool. I would meet my childhood friend at the beach and we would go to the ice creamery after spending hours upon hours dancing around in the golden sand bobbing in and out of the water when we pleased, being rolled around by the crashing waves and having sand stuck to our faces. I’ll never take the coast for granted, I know how precious and comforting the cool water on my skin feels. I love the beach so much and I don’t think I’ll ever take it for granted.
