Tarabrook Events I have closed the decorating part of my business due to medical reasons. I plan to keep this page up, as visitors are still enjoying the photos.

What is one of the worst things a bride to be can do? Buy her wedding dress too early. You need your date and venue secured, and have somewhat of a theme in mind before your dress is purchased. Why? Because that ballgown you fell in love with will look silly in that barn atmosphere you fall in love with for your ceremony and reception. PLUS alterations are very expensive. ( what size are you going to be a year and a half from now?).

Thinking of a winter wedding? They can be so beautiful. I always wanted to do a winter wedding with all the metallic colors of gold, silver, copper, and whatever else I could come up with. Right down to the bouquets. I had it all decorated in my mind, just no takers. Sometimes all those matching colors can be overrated. Be unique and memorable!

This post is definitely a thinking out loud post. I doubt anyone will even see it! I miss decorating! I have so many wonderful memories of "putting the makeup on the room". I'm so thankful for all of my clients that trusted me to turn their vision into reality. I sometimes wonder if there is a market for consulting so I could still design but not have to do the work 😀. Have been slowly weeding through photos and thinking that I just may watermark them and put more "out there" for others to enjoy. Maybe even give some browsers ideas, although in the approximately 4 years since I've been active, I realize trends have changed. As they always have, and always will. ❤️

I continue to go through totes and boxes full of inventory and it needs to go and make some other place beautiful. I just recently sold fantastic rustic lanterns and gold chargers. Let me know if there are specific items you need for your event. I won't be able to answer vague questions like " what do you have", or " do you have anything rustic?" If you want a round gold cake stand, a silver square cake stand, 6, smaller 5 arm candelabras, a rustic wooden box card holder, etc., I can send you photos.

What a beautiful day in SW Michigan! I spent some of the day just walking around my storage area trying to decide what to keep, and what to say goodbye to. For anyone interested, I am clearing out a large part of my business inventory as it's just not going to work for me to be able to be out doing event setups any more. I am keeping items that people can come and pick up and bring back, so strictly rentals. I'll keep this page updated as time and energy permits. I have several things listed right now on some pages that I am selling, and if you are looking for anything please let me know!

Hello friends and Tarabrook family. I am attempting to do a quick post here as I realize that I have many friends and business acquaintances that are not friends on my personal page and as I've had many inquiries my health that I decided the best way to do this is to try to do a quick update. Tomorrow will find me as an inpatient at Borgess hospital for the 14th day straight following complications from surgery that I had on December 20th. I've been incredibly ill, but today show some improvement which I expect to continue. My son has been posting periodic updates on my personal page and to my knowledge he has made those public so if anyone is interested you can check there for condition updates. I'll respond as best I can to any questions because so many of my friends and family are medical I'm sure there's going to be lots of questions. I appreciate all your thoughts and prayers more than I'll ever have words to express

These lanterns are the perfect touch for an outdoor event. They can hold several different kinds of candle holders, and some solar lights. Stake in the ground or hang some from a tree.

So, let's talk about the cake table for a minute. I just reviewed some new photos of beautiful cakes that had been posted on line. Behind them: 3 blank walls, one radiator/register, an open room so that you couldn't really even see the topper, and one door with the full width industrial handle. And most of them were just sitting plunked in the middle of a big table. And my thoughts were...what a shame that those beautiful cakes weren't accented, weren't a focal point in the room. There's usually some respectable $$$ spent on wedding cakes. Showcase it! You can rent a backdrop and table decor from us and really show off your cake! Here's just one example, but you can personalize to look any way you want!

The bridesmaid bouquets really accented the floral/garden theme, and made for such a warm and inviting atmosphere. The backdrop and ceiling were dressed up with hanging test tubes holding flowers.
