Missing:

PHHS Theater’s red velvet rope and stanchions.

Casino workers mentioned that the custodian was in that area helping clean up tables / chairs. I’ve reached out to the Custodian to see if he may have put it somewhere.

But wanted to ask if any of our fabulously dedicated clean up crew may have grabbed it and stuck it somewhere extra safe!?

To the Parents (and sibling students) who helped make set up last night happen…

THANK YOU.

When I say that we could not do it without you, I mean it.

If you were there, you know much much planning, building, love and energy goes into providing a safe place for our students to have some fun after their Junior/Senior Prom. There were dads with paintbrushes, siblings blowing up balloons, parents on motorized lifts, games being delivered, golf carts being decorated, tents being built and a vision that came to life.

We started at 2:30pm, and walked out at a little before 1am. It was a fantastic turnout of about 25-30 parents who came and said, “How can I help?”

♥️🎪♥️

What to expect tonight:

Please arrive by 10:00/10:30pm. You may park out front at the main hall entrance or the auditorium parking lot.

(I will be there earlier if you’d like to come before 10pm).

Arriving early will allow you to walk through to see everything your kids are going to enjoy as well as give you an opportunity to make sure you are good to go with your station and what will be needed from you to run your game!

Students will begin to trickle in around 11. It is usually slow going at first and then it quickly fills up.

WE ARE EXPECTING OVER 400 STUDENTS 😄

It will be a night they will remember forever, and is only made possible by people like you.

Clean up will begin at 1:30am, as soon as students are moved into the gym for prize drawings.

Please. Please. Please. Please…. Help with cleanup (or if you are not running a game, feel free to come help with clean up beginning at 1:30am).

Clean up is quick and easy when we have an “all-hands-on-deck” approach to getting the work done.

We all share a common goal:

To put on a fun night for our kids… and then go home.

Your help is essential and appreciated very much.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Feel free to text me:

I checked the ticket sale report yesterday and we have sold more tickets for Post Prom than EVER before in the many years that I’ve done this.

👏🏼 Our kids are excited 👏🏼

…and I am too!

I will be at the high school this afternoon to bring some (ok, a ton) of things from my house and a lot of stuff out of the basement of the school to stage for post prom set up next Friday.

If anyone is willing or available to help, let me know. I’d love to have help with staging and organizing.

There’s a lot to do.

Feel free to text me 317-408-8863 if you’d like to come help.

🚕 Cash Cab 🚕

Christine & Dave…. Jenny & Ed Spencer - I have you down for the Cash Cab!

Are you guys still planning to drive and quiz!?

The theme is carnival! Feel free to dress the part!

🦛 Human Hungry Hungry Hippos 🦛

Lori… are you and Bryan still up for hosting Human Hungry Hungry Hippos?

❓ Are you available for set up on Friday night and Saturday for the event and tear down?

❓ I thought maybe we could do 4 colors of panels in your room similar to a “game board”. Is that ok?

We still have the balls and baskets from one of the previous years.

We are getting the wheeled scooters from the Elementary school, so your supplies should be covered unless you want to add anything else to the room decor.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

13/04/2022

💰 Deal or No Deal 💰

Tabitha & Angie… are you ladies still planning to host Deal or No Deal?

❓Are you able to help Friday with set up and then Saturday with the event + tear down?

❓We will not have a Casino, so does Rob want to be the banker?

I am 99% sure we have the “briefcases” from last year in the school basement. I will go look this week and confirm.

❓ Do you want to have gold and black panels like they had last year?

Any questions or concerns?

13/04/2022

👰🏼‍♀️🤵🏻 The Newlywed Game 🤵🏻👰🏼‍♀️

Tirzah & Laurie…

Are you ladies still planning on hosting The Newlywed game?

Questions:

❓ Are you available Friday night for set up, Saturday for the event and tear down?

❓ The room is decorated with colorful panels; I was thinking pink and purple for “love” 💖💜. Is that ok or would you prefer different colors?

❓ Do you want any other decorations for the room? Feel free to purchase and I can reimburse or let me know what you’d like to have purchased.

❓ Do you need white boards/markers/etc?

❓Do you have questions prepared for your contestants or do you need help with that?

Please confirm below and let me know if you have any other questions or concerns!

11/04/2022

We are getting close to the main event!

🎡🎪🤡🪄🎠🎟

I want to share a few updates:

✅ Prom and Post Prom tickets are on sale. If your student wants to attend both events, they need to buy both tickets. Ladies that helped with the Princess Day fundraiser will receive a free Post Prom ticket. They still need to purchase a PROM ticket.

✅ The early morning text message reminders about ticket sales are NOT associated with this group. Those notifications are sent via school messenger; this group is a Parents Post Prom Planning group.

✅ Students will not receive a physical ticket to either event. I strongly recommend making sure your student has a copy of the ticket purchase receipt on their phone or printed just in case. While I’d like to believe that technology is accurate and reliable, as humans, we can make errors. Please, as a safeguard, make sure you get an electronic receipt for your purchase and reach out if you have concerns about your transaction.

🎪 DETAILS:

We will begin transforming the high school immediately after school on Friday May 6th. We complete the transformation by the end of the night so there is nothing left to do on Saturday but enjoy the day with our Juniors and Seniors, take lots of pictures, see them off to dinner and then work the event.

🎤 The more people we have to help with set up and tear down, the better. I understand that most people have to work, (and probably aren’t as ridiculous as me, taking a 1/2 day for this 😵‍💫) so feel free to arrive as your evening schedule permits. I can assure you, we will need the help 😀

This entire event has been planned by a handful of people. Having help {beyond} the core group is essential. We have been doing some form of purchasing supplies and decor, reserving last minute vendors, coordinating financials, building activities, painting props and taking measurements almost daily. If you have any capacity and willingness to be part of it, please reach out.

We have so many fun games, activities and vendors and prizes planned! I am grateful for those donors that have been willing to come forward with financial support.

If you are in charge of a game room or area on Saturday night, please make sure you are available for set up and tear down. I’ll be confirming with activity owners this week to make sure you are still committed and/or require a replacement worker.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Today was our 👑 Princess Day Fundraiser 👑 event and it was a success!!

Thank you to all of the ladies that dressed up and participated as Princesses as well as the Moms that were there to help! We could not have done it without each of you.

25 little girls came to our event, made bracelets, ate cake pops and became “real life princesses” in the blink of an eye. 💕

🚨 Challenge Initiated 🚨

A local family from our Community (not a business owner, just a local family that appreciates the opportunity for upperclassmen to enjoy a safe, secure, controlled and fun environment after prom) has initiated a challenge to our community leaders, members, family and friends.

For every dollar that is donated to PHHS Post Prom 2022, they will donate {at least} a 22% match! If $1,000 total dollars are donated, they’ll give over $220. If $5,000 is donated, they’ll give over $1,000 additional dollars!

If you have never experienced a traditional PHHS Post Prom, take a look at the photos below or ask an Arabian Alumni - it’s incredible! Students not only have a ton of games and entertainment, they also have a chance to win fantastic prizes like TVs, Apple Watch, Air Pods, Dorm Fridge, Gift Cards and so much more!

Thank you in advance to those who have already donated via the link below, or by supporting the committee through our numerous fundraisers.

Has anyone heard of Selfie World? 📸

It’s a place in different cities where you pay a fee to access little “rooms” where people can pose and take photos of themselves with different backgrounds and props.

Whyyyy am I asking!?

Because Selfie World is going to be one of the “activities” at Post Prom this year!!

So, why are you telling me?

Because we want to know if YOU have any fun/out of this world/crazy/obnoxious props that we can borrow for our Selfie World Rooms!

Things like:

✅ Fake Grass Turf

✅ Grandma’s old couch from 1973

✅ Fun Lamps/end tables

✅ old televisions

✅ work bench + hard hats

If you can think of a fun theme and props, we will take it! Kids love to dress up and take funny photos of themselves and their friends. If you have it, we want it.

Well, maybe.

Anyway, post a photo below of your obnoxious belongings!

I am looking for someone that is good with “steaming” wrinkles/creases.

I have a photo backdrop that I’ll be using at the Princess Day fundraiser next weekend and I need someone to steam the creases out for me between now and Sunday morning.

Anyone?

Do we have anyone here that can do balloon pillars or balloon arches on the Friday evening of Post Prom set up?

Do I have anyone that can create a simple Balloon Dart Carnival Style game?

Ideas:

🔅 Happy Dragon
🔅 Wendy’s
🔅 Anita’s

I was able to get approval to proceed with fundraising events at the High School (Bingo night, Parents Night Out, Princess for a Day)!!

I just need to know who is available!

I’d love to do Parents Night Out on Friday April 1st. Saturday April 2nd would be my second choice for Parents Night Out because we are planning bingo that night.

Princess for a Day could be on Sunday the 3rd if we can get 6-8 Junior/Senior girls to dress up and help for a couple of hours.

I know that this would make for a VERY busy weekend for a few of us.

Without these events, or other quick-cash-funding-ideas zzz we cannot continue with planning Post Prom.

Who is available (parents and/or Junior/Seniors) to help? I’d love to have a mix of girls and boys to help out!

Options:

✋🏻 Parents Night Out (Ginny and Jen will coordinate, but need helpers)
🗓 Friday April 1st

✋🏻 Bingo (Tabitha and Angie will coordinate, but they need helpers)
🗓 Saturday April 2nd

✋🏻 Princess for a Day (Ginny and Jen will coordinate, but need helpers)
🗓 Sunday April 3rd

26/02/2022

Parents:

Thank you to everyone that stepped up to volunteer your help with set up, event night and clean up.

You are appreciated. Although there is still a need for workers, we are making progress.

We have had no Junior parents offer to help with business donations, so a couple of Senior parents are trying to make time to do it.

We remain way under budget.

In addition to trying to get business donations, we are working on setting up an electronic donation site where people (parents, local community members, grandparents, etc) can make a donation toward this event. Please be prepared to share that site once we get it up and active.

Additionally, I would like to ask if anyone would like to help with the following fundraiser events in early April:

⭕️ BINGO night at PHHS
-> people can purchase a card or card(s) at the door and have a chance to win a monetary prize if they get a BINGO!

⭕️ Parents Nite Out
-> parents can pay a fee to drop off their kids for an evening out while we coordinate events and snacks to keep the kids entertained. Junior/senior students would be encouraged to help out (helpers could earn a free Post Prom ticket)

⭕️ Princess for a Day
-> High school girls dress in formal gowns and tiaras to become life-like princesses for little girls to interact with as they get their hair, makeup and nails done at individual stations. Once they have been transformed into a Princess, they get a photo to keep. Parents of young ladies ages 2-10 could pay a small fee to attend this event. (Helpers could earn a free post prom ticket)

Happy Saturday and Happy Super Bowl Weekend!

🏈 🎉

We have reached a critical moment in the planning process, so I have a lot of information to share.

Grab a snack, a drink, and a seat….then read on 🤓

Early in this process, I hosted a planning meeting, but only 3 people were able to attend (I know, Covid fears and busy schedules contributed to attendance)… so we decided to use this page as a communication vehicle for planning. If a zoom call works better, I’m willing to do that too, but again… busy schedules prevent attendance on those sometimes. Please let me know if there is a better way to generate parent engagement.

Now, to the good stuff. ⬇️

📊 A survey was sent out this week to Juniors and Seniors to get some of their input about Post Prom. A couple of additional questions were asked of Seniors to get their feedback about the activities they enjoyed most from last year.

⭐️ Over 60% of respondents enjoy the tradition of hosting Post Prom at the [transformed] High School. (~40% day they wouldn’t mind having it at a bowling alley instead).

⭐️ In an open text question, Seniors said they enjoyed the following activities last year and would love to see them return:
👉🏼 TV Game Shows
👉🏼 Prize Raffle
👉🏼 Snacks
👉🏼 Casino Table Games
👉🏼 Palm Reader
👉🏼 Magician/Mime

⭐️ One response said that they wished we could decorate the whole school and have activities throughout. 🤭😳

Prom is 12 weeks away… we are about $7,000 under budget and have only had 14 parents [commit] to helping.

I know it is a lot to ask, from set up Friday evening to working the event on Saturday and clean up in the wee hours of the morning Sunday. I get it. I really do.

But it’s one weekend. And it’s for our kids. And the more people that help with set up and clean up… the less time it takes.

I have seen many parents say that after everything they (and we, as parents!) have been through in the last 2 years of Covid, our students deserve a fun (and “normal”) high school prom/post prom experience. If parents (like you, reading this) believe and agree with that statement, then WE have to make it happen.

As a reminder, this is a $10k (minimum) event and requires a minimum of 50 people to pull it off successfully.

If you are one of the 14 people that have committed and have already been helping…

Thank you!!!

If you are not one of those people, please (I’m actually at the point of begging now) step in and commit to an activity. If I cannot staff the activities, the set up, and the tear down, we cannot give our Juniors and Seniors a Post Prom.

Period.

I will be making a post of open spots, directly after this. 🧐 Please watch for that post and comment / commit to activities you are willing to own 🧐

If you do not care what activity you own, just comment on that post and say, “sign me up anywhere” and I will do it quicker than you can refill your coffee cup after reading this!

Thanks Parents, so much for your help, your consideration to help, and the sacrifices you make for the kids.

We are Arabians, and We are {ONE}.

I’ll admit, when I arrived at the school and saw BOXES and BAGS of homemade goodies I was really nervous that I’d never sell them all.

This photo is just about HALF of what we had to sell.

311 treat bags were donated…

And 311 treat bags were SOLD!!!! I sold out before the end of 3rd lunch.

We also sold several “Love Libs” that will be delivered on Monday, February 14th 💌

Thank You Parents who made this bake sale possible (and added over $300 to our Post Prom Fund).

Y’all the real MVP’s 😉

10/02/2022

Help Wanted:

We have one person that is trying to manage business donations but it is certainly a 2 person job.

Can someone help?

We have a letter to give to local business owners - just need someone to help with the task.

Places like Community Hospital, Meijer, local doctor/dental offices, paving companies, PHHS Alumni businesses, restaurants, etc.

It can be a gift card donation or a monetary donation. Many companies have funds in their 2022 donation budgets that we can benefit from.

Please comment below if you’re willing to help with this.
