Katering By Kass was always going to be a temporary name until we came up with a name we liked. The background of this picture should be enough for you to know the background we have in the restaurant industry and for our love to bbq! The plan has been to open up a permanent location to allow my kids to operate. That being said don’t be alarmed when you see the name change because we have F I N A L L Y came up with a name and we are looking for a location! Fun fact Friday
Here’s a little history about my food background!
In 2014 I opened up an BBQ spot called BBQ inside the Dustbowl Saloon in Tipton California! In 2016 I moved my business to a bigger location in Downtown Tulare into a pretty unique spot which was inside an airplane located on L street!
It was during our time inside the plane that our quality in our food really showed as we were featured on several local news stations, you can actually still find a couple clips on YouTube, we were also on a couple foodie instagram accounts, from as far away as San Diego, as well as some popular YouTube Vlogs! We were even invited to the local fairs as food vendors, which was tons of fun! We were also feature on Monopoly Tulare edition!
Moving forward, in 2019 life happened and I went through a divorce, then in 2020 Covid-19 took the world by storm! Being a small business and shopping locally, the grocery store game was crazy! We were having to go to several stores just to find a portion of our ingredients, so I made the executive decision to shut down. Also because raising prices day to day due to the meat prices going up drastically daily wasn’t going to work. Not to mention we noticed a 60%-70% drop in sales so that was a big hit alone!
Now let’s fast forward to this year! There’s not a day that goes by that someone, somewhere sees myself or an employee of mine, for that matter the employees alone let me know how much my food is missed and how they wish they had this or that from the menu, and that in itself warms my heart!
I decided to start up slowly by offering catering services under my own name concoction but still the same great recipes as Pitty’s!
I’m doing this because I truly enjoy cooking these recipes, not because I have too! Like they say do something you love not something you’re forced to do!
So here I am offering my catering services for now, because we really don’t know what gods plan is!
