Below the quote sits a 19-foot tall, 175-ton statue of President Lincoln, himself looking out over the Mall of the country that he fought so hard to preserve and unite.

Abraham Lincoln was an American lawyer and statesman who served as the 16th president of the United States from 1861 until his assassination in 1865. Lincoln led the nation through the American Civil War and succeeded in preserving the Union, abolishing slavery, bolstering the federal government, and modernizing the U.S. economy.

Few of the Founding Fathers inspire as much reverence as George Washington. The Washington Monument is a testament to his leadership, honoring and memorializing his enduring contributions to the United States.

The Washington Monument is located near the west end of the National Mall, granting spectacular views of the National Mall, including the Lincoln Memorial, The White House, and United States Capitol Building. Memorializing our first President, George Washington, the Monument has been witness to the history that shaped our nation.
The National Monument stands as the tallest structure in Washington, D.C. Shaped like an Egyptian obelisk, it is 555’ 5/8” high and made of marble, granite, and bluestone gneiss, it took 36 years to complete.  From the top viewers enjoy 30 to 40 miles visibility in clear weather. And when it was completed in 1884, it was the tallest building in the world.

Thomas Jefferson was a passionate student of architecture, and elements of his influential designs appear in the memorial.

The Jefferson Memorial is a unit of National Mall and Memorial Parks. From within the circular colonnade, a 19 foot tall statue of Thomas Jefferson stands holding the Declaration of Independence and peering out to the Tidal Basin among the Japanese flowering cherry tree. The Jefferson Memorial is the perfect place to experience peak bloom.

We must streamline dementia care

Caring for individuals living with dementia is costly and complicated. Many people living with dementia and their caregivers are frequently left to navigate the complex health care maze on their own. As a result, those with dementia often fail to receive critical aspects of dementia care, and the quality of care does not meet their expectations. 
Congress can address this issue now. 
Comprehensive dementia care has been shown to reduce costs while providing better quality care. By passing the bipartisan Comprehensive Care for Alzheimer’s Act Congress can make access to dementia care easier. This bill would ask the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) to test a better payment structure for dementia care management.
Listen to what your fellow Alzheimer’s advocates are saying about their personal experience with dementia care, then join them in sharing your experience with dementia care for you, your loved ones, or your patients.

Because like flowers, our participants don't stop when something's in their way. They keep raising funds and awareness for a breakthrough in the fight against Alzheimer's and all other dementia.

Walk to End Alzheimer's is happening — and you can join us at your local event or Walk From Home in your neighborhood. No matter where you participate, know that your health and safety are our top priorities. All local events will implement safety protocols including physical distancing, contactless registration, hand sanitizing stations and more. Per CDC guidelines around crowded outdoor settings, we ask that all Walk attendees be vaccinated against COVID-19 or wear a mask when in an overcrowded area. Masks will be available on-site.

We will continue to closely monitor CDC, state and local guidelines to ensure Walk events adhere to recommendations and are safe for attendees. If you prefer to Walk From Home, you can still engage in many Walk-day experiences through our mobile app.
