Can you smell the roses, lilacs, and lavender already?
I am all about using every bit of plant life and aminal I can in order to prevent waste.
This is such a great way to create another business avenue with flowers that would have otherwise gone to waste.
I grow cut flowers to sell, but what happens if they don't sell? What happens if you have pest pressure and don't have the perfect flower petals to sell?
YOU MAKE OTHER PRODUCTS!
I plan to get creative with "leftover" product and start making my own line of linen spray, face toner, lotions, soaps......cocktail mixers? 🤔😜
I am very particular about what goes on my skin. It is equally as important about what goes in your mouth.
CLEAN products will be coming your way!

There were so many reasons why I decided not to grow them...
1. They are a costly investment! Make sure you have a maket ready to move them when they are ready...I did not.
2. You really should have a cooler to store them! They store exceptionally well when they don't have to be shoved into a fridge where they can freeze (cough, cough). Yup, that happened. Lost hundreds!
3. I just dont feel like they are a good economical choice. If you grow tulips for cut flower, they are a 1 and done flower. You pull the bulb with the flower to get stem length and then toss the bulb.
4. Mother nature is such a finicky factor to having tulips at the right time! They require a lot of care and babying!
However, I have seen people grow them indoor and that does intrigue me! I really feel like people want tulips in February, but in May, when they are ready outdoors, I feel like people are moving on. (If you haven't noticed, they are selling spring flowers now in the stores) The beginning of January and people are ready for the bright flowers!
Sometimes you can't plan for what the following year will be like when you have to start ordering them now. For me to get the varieties I want for next year, that is now. Before you even sell your current stock.
Last year at this time, I had no cooler, now I do. I had no great market, now I do. I was losing hundreds of tulips and could think about purchasing for the following year. I had over 100 peonies ordered that I knew I would have to plant in the Fall when crates of tulips would be showing up.
Moral of this long store, if you made it to the end... It's OK not to grow what everyone else is growing and buying because it simply may not be the right time for YOU!

Grow lots of lisianthus!!!
I grow a lot, sell a lot, and design with them a lot!
Local lisianthus is so desirable, has amazing vase life and I have yet to find someone who doesn't love it!
This year I am starting 5,500 seeds! Yes, I start all of mine from seed!
I am going to succession plant them so they are not all ready at the same time and plan to plant them out early!
They can handle cool temps and actually the root health will love you for it.
Pack them close so you get long stem length and help suffocate weed pressure. I only had to weed them once when it started to warm up, but then they started to grow and the weed pressure was significantly reduced at that point.
I love them and am full of information about them, so ask away!

Do you worry about clearance plants making it through the winter??
They get so root bound in the pots from growing in them all season at the store. Sometimes, there is very little dirt left in the pot. They will dry out incredibly fast without loosening those roots up!
Here are some tips 👇
1.Loosen the roots well.
2. Dig a whole larger than your plant base so the soil is loose around it to make it easier for your roots to set in.
3. Mulch the soil around the base to keep moisture in.
4. Water them in well and frequently.
Come spring, they will take off!
Happy clearance shopping!

This was my favorite white cosmo variety this year.
The extra small inside petals were delightful! Most blooms had good-sized flowers and just floated so perfectly atop arrangement and bouquets.
Growing. Lots. More. Next. Year.

A Bald Eagle was attacking a goose this morning while I was in my garden!
This was so crazy to see in person!
I don't care how many times I see Bald Eagles they NEVER get old to me!
I love nature and I can't get enough of it!
Did you notice the goose kept hiding under water from it? I didn't realize they could go all the way under water.

Meet lisianthus Corelli III - light pink, she is a beauty and she is available for your upcoming events!
Unless I get a VERY large order, I can supply many orders coming up. Reserve them today!
She is light pink, giving a hint of apricot tones. She has a dark burgundy center that pairs very well with these Fall deep colors.

Last week, I highlighted "Golden Hour." This week, it is "precious metals"
These are @floretflower zinnias, and I am just obsessed.
I was honestly not going to grow zinnias this year and once I saw these varieties, I could help myself and am so glad I did!
They have been a hit in the wedding industry.

Growing garlic is really easy, but you must do this one thing to get large garlic bulbs!
Cut off the scapes!!
Garlic, when planted from seed (which is often considered a single clove of galic) will try to flower every year.
This is called the garlic scape; it will turn into the flower if left in too long.
All the energy of the plant will put its energy into flowering if you don't cut these off, you will end up with a garlic bulb that will not be large at all!
See.... I do grow something where the flower is not desired!! 😆
Share this with someone who is new to growing garlic!
It only takes one time leaving them on to realize something went wrong!

I love propagating, and this is a great one to do it with!
So I have attempted to start rosemary from seed for years, and I'm so over it!
Last year, I started 20 from seed and got TWO to mature into a full plant. They take forever to germinate and require too much care.
Take it from me. This is way easier! I'll have new plants in a few short weeks!
I wanna know what else I should be propogating???

Dahlia propagation is in full swing now! Do you struggle from wilting cutting?
Mine usually take between 10-14 days.
My key steps work every time without fail for me!
1. Take your cutting
2. Dip in a rooting hormone
3. Pre poke a hole in soil medium so the rooting hormone stays on the cutting when inserting it.
4. Pinch soil around cutting.
5. Keep on heating mat with humidity dome 24/7
The key for me is the heating mat and humidity dome together!! If you don't use the heating mat, you don't get good humidity, and obviously, you need the dome to hold in humidity.
Can you do it without them, yes, it just takes longer and they wilt really quickly. They are so much happier with heat and humidity!
Are you using heat and dome?
