I am the owner and operator of two businesses. Both were developed out of my passion for flowers. I have a husband and 3 beautiful children ages 10 (girl), 8 (girl), and 5 (boy).

It all began with , which has continued to expand every year with new varieties!
While I grow in a suburban neighborhood, the gardens cover over a quarter of an acre. What initially started as small retail arrangements to one off customers, it has grown to become fully operational agricultual business where I sell mainly wholesale specialty, fresh cut flowers to local florist. We are also building inventory to sell dahlia tubers and other various flowers through my website. I have big goals, and I hope to grow closer to fulfilling those in the coming years!

While creating the garden, I was introduced to the world of freelance floral design and have been blessed to work with some of the best floral artists in Michigan.

My love for designing has continued to grow, and that is how was created. I have a design studio that overlooks my beautiful gardens with an attached walk-in cooler.

As a designer, my favorite look is the garden style arrangements that are whimsical and organic. I love using seasonal and local premium flowers to achieve the look and feel, that my clients envision.

I am excited and feel blessed every day with being a mom and still able to grow these businesses. My ultimate goal would be to bring more of my family and friends into and as it continues to develop.

Still have a gorgeous girl standing tall! 😍

She "bee" for the 🐝

Actually, all the flowers at my house are unaffected for the most part.

Just my main field, which is in the open, got taken out. I will enjoy her frost free beauty for as long as I can.

Today you will find me in the field.

Sadly, we have come to harvesting some of the final orders and labeling my dahlias in preparation for frost.

I'm sad to see them go, but ready to tear out the old to make room for my young spring blooming seedlings that so desperately need in the ground.

There is always something else that needs to be done and I'm constantly thinking about next season while I'm still in the current one.

Anyone else feeling mentally exhausted 🙋‍♀️

I'm pretty excited about this new filler I added to my garden this Fall.

I have to thank for introducing it to me on the many freelance days with her this season!

Meet calamintha nepeta!

This is a perennial herb in the mint family and I can't get enough of it's smell!!

I was concerned at first with it being in the mint family, but it doesn't spread under the soil like most mint does and it is more bush like. I am assuming it will drop seeds and spread and oh I sure hope it does!!

She looks so cute as a support and little green filler in bouquets, wearables, and budvases.....really everything!

And if you are at all like my husband, he instantly looked up if he can make cocktails with it, and it turns out you can!! 😆

Today's highlight from the garden.....

Rock Run Ashley!

She is nice because her tones are more muted in comparison to Bracken Rose and Crichton Honey.

She was on my must-have list this year when I was in dahlia hunt mode for buying tubers.

Such a beautiful dahlia and I can't wait to continue to expand her in the following years and eventually sell tubers of her.

Cornell Bronze! 😍

She isn't an expensive tuber to start, she pumps out the blooms, and pumps out the tubers under the ground to expand, share, and sell.

Peaches n Cream

She was one of the first dahlias I ever grew and I have so many of them today. I just love her.

For the grower out there, do you remember one of your first?

For the designer, do you have a favorite?

Growing roses is a serious passion of mine right now, but so difficult. 👇

I love them so much, but they are a 🤬 to grow!!

Can you relate to this at all???

As an organic gardener, not spraying harsh chemicals allows all the bugs to live on. Making havoc of them!

They are young plants, so I am currently working on changing the BRIX levels in them.

If you are unfamiliar with this, it is the sugar content of the plant. Low levels of sugar means the plant is less healthy and more sustainable to insect pressure.

Believe it or not, the bugs can sense this when flying above and when they sense any stress they take over.

To try and combat this problem I have been adding molasses to my foliar spray routine.

This does a few things.....
1. It is sticky and helps hold on the spray to the leaves so they can be utilized better.
2. Molasses has high levels of nutrients and helps increase their overall health.
3. And it helps raise the sugar content quickly (the BRIX level)!

The higher the BRIX the healthier the plant and the least likely your catpillar moths will want to land on them to lay their eggs, the Japanese beatles will want to have o**y on my rose blooms 🤣, and the aphids will want to take over. All to just name a few of these annoying bugs that make my blooms look like crap!

I grew dahlias for the first time last year on a larger scale and fell in love with them!

I'm not in love with the underground process as I have had a lot of problems with storage this year, but I have to go back to my pictures to remind myself why they are worth all the effort and heartache.

Plus, I felt like my feed needed a little bit of color with all these winter tasks full of dirt!

Enjoy and have a wonderful day!
