This was my favorite white cosmo variety this year.
The extra small inside petals were delightful! Most blooms had good-sized flowers and just floated so perfectly atop arrangement and bouquets.
Growing. Lots. More. Next. Year.

A Bald Eagle was attacking a goose this morning while I was in my garden!
This was so crazy to see in person!
I don't care how many times I see Bald Eagles they NEVER get old to me!
I love nature and I can't get enough of it!
Did you notice the goose kept hiding under water from it? I didn't realize they could go all the way under water.

Meet lisianthus Corelli III - light pink, she is a beauty and she is available for your upcoming events!
Unless I get a VERY large order, I can supply many orders coming up. Reserve them today!
She is light pink, giving a hint of apricot tones. She has a dark burgundy center that pairs very well with these Fall deep colors.

Last week, I highlighted "Golden Hour." This week, it is "precious metals"
These are @floretflower zinnias, and I am just obsessed.
I was honestly not going to grow zinnias this year and once I saw these varieties, I could help myself and am so glad I did!
They have been a hit in the wedding industry.

Growing garlic is really easy, but you must do this one thing to get large garlic bulbs!
Cut off the scapes!!
Garlic, when planted from seed (which is often considered a single clove of galic) will try to flower every year.
This is called the garlic scape; it will turn into the flower if left in too long.
All the energy of the plant will put its energy into flowering if you don't cut these off, you will end up with a garlic bulb that will not be large at all!
See.... I do grow something where the flower is not desired!! 😆
Share this with someone who is new to growing garlic!
It only takes one time leaving them on to realize something went wrong!

I love propagating, and this is a great one to do it with!
So I have attempted to start rosemary from seed for years, and I'm so over it!
Last year, I started 20 from seed and got TWO to mature into a full plant. They take forever to germinate and require too much care.
Take it from me. This is way easier! I'll have new plants in a few short weeks!
I wanna know what else I should be propogating???
Please comment your favorite plants to propogate 👇

Dahlia propagation is in full swing now! Do you struggle from wilting cutting?
Mine usually take between 10-14 days.
My key steps work every time without fail for me!
1. Take your cutting
2. Dip in a rooting hormone
3. Pre poke a hole in soil medium so the rooting hormone stays on the cutting when inserting it.
4. Pinch soil around cutting.
5. Keep on heating mat with humidity dome 24/7
The key for me is the heating mat and humidity dome together!! If you don't use the heating mat, you don't get good humidity, and obviously, you need the dome to hold in humidity.
Can you do it without them, yes, it just takes longer and they wilt really quickly. They are so much happier with heat and humidity!
Are you using heat and dome?

Big task done today!! ✔️
If you have been following my stories, you know that I had perfectly sprouted ranunculus corms, and today was the perfect day to get them into the ground.
The cooler temps will allow the roots to really settle in and then when temps warm, they will push up foliage and then blooms for May and June!

Are you in need of a good repurpose for old blinds?
I have been tearing these apart for years. They work great for labels!
You don't have to even cut them. Just grab a chunk, bend them, and there you go. I like to use my garden maker to make sure the names don't rub off. A sharpie would work also.
This is especially a good cost saving if you want 6 inch labels. They start to get pricy the longer you get them.
Would you try this?

Most days just don't seem long enough right now.
I have 3 young kids and in order to spend the time I want, and they need, I have to put in the after hours. The hours where you are tired and just want to give up.
Their are so many sicknesses with kids home from school, class parties to attend, and snuggles that I will cherish forever...I will miss it all one day and that is why I don't miss out on those precious times with them.
I am torn between growing a business and being a good mom and wife.
I have decided to spend some extra hours after they are all in bed to help clear my mind and power through the next few months!
I feel this time will help me feel less stressed and more mentally present with them during the day.
Starting your own business in NO JOKE, but so worth it!
Give me an AMEN 🙌 if you can relate!

Wintering sowing is so easy and a great way to get seeds started with limited equipment and time!
I start mine between late December and early February.
This works really well for cool tolerant crops, especially ones that require cold stratification.
Simply sow and place outside.
I place mine on the south facing side of my house. As temps warm, the jugs act as a mini greenhouse and keep them safe and growing.
These plants end up being more tolerant when I transplant and require no hardening off beforehand.
Do you winter sow?
If so, I would love to hear your methods!! Comment them below 👇
If you don't, but wanna learn more, head over to the link in my bio!!!

Snapdragons, I grow them every year!
They are a tender perennial for my in zone 6. I have a lot of success overwintering them with mulch.
I use them in floral design and on my desserts and salads! They are such a fun way to add color organically!
I buy a smaller pack of seeds and when they are about 6 inches tall, I cut them back and propogate the cuttings. Double your supply with no additional cost!

Is anyone worried about how your tubers are handling the cold this past week??? ✋️
I used several methods to store my dahlia tubers this season.
This was one of the ways I decided to store my larger qualities of a single variety.
I don't currently have a cooler to store these in consistent cool temps, which has caused some headaches this winter.
This method made it easy to just vent my totes to let out humidity during the warmer spells. I felt like the vermiculite has kept them nice and insulated during these cold temps as well.
This past week, I decided to put a grow mat close to them in the garage, but not touching and well that produced too much humidity and so I vented them and threw a thick blanket over them and discontinued the heat mats. They are stacked on the wall sharred with the inside house wall. They seem to be alright.
I used other methods and will share those with you in another reel.
