TASMANIA TRIDENTS SUPPORTERS AT BPL #15

There is no doubt that Tasmania Tridents have one of the the biggest and the loudest supporter base at BPL #15 - thanks to a tour organised by Bowls Tasmania through RACT HelloWorld, groups from the Burnie and Kingborough Bowls Clubs and family and friends and others who have travelled to Club Pine Rivers to watch the Tridents in action. Some of the group of supporters are pictured below with the Tridents team members.

Thank you to all the supporters - you have certainly given the Tridents a lift all week.

A great week of bowls coming to an end here at Pine Rivers today. Go Tassy.

A great week of bowls coming to an end here at Pine Rivers today. Go Tassy.

TOP DAY FOR TASMANIA TRIDENTS AT DAY 4 OF BPL #15

Tasmania Tridents bounced back on Day 4 of BPL #15 winning three of the four games they played and have given themselves a great chance to play in finals tomorrow night in only their second outing in BPL.

The Tridents have won the first game of the day every day at BPL #15 to date and today was no different against the Gold Coast Hawks. The Tridents won the first set 6-3 but the Hawks bounced back to easily win the second set 12-2. The Tridents prevailed in the tiebreaker 1-0 to keep its finals hopes alive.

The Trident's second game of the day against the Perth Suns started disastrously when the Suns raced away to a convincing 13-0 win in the first set. Showing just how much they have improved since BPL #14, the Tridents fought back to win the second set 9-4 and won a vital measure to take the tiebreaker 1-0 and climb back into the top five.

In one of their best performances of the tournament in the third game for the day, the Trident's easily accounted for one of the premiership favourites the Brisbane Pirates in straight sets 8-1 and 12-0.

The final game for Day 4 was the television game against Tweed Heads Ospreys. The first set was tied at 5 all after four ends. Ospreys drove the jack into the ditch with their first bowl of the fifth end but the bowl didn't stay with the jack. Mark Nitz then produced three magnificent draw bowls to within inches of the ditch and the Tridents held on to score one shot and win the first set 6-5. Ospreys picked up the second set, picking up 8 shots in a power play on the final end to win 11-5 and then prevailed in the tiebreaker 1-0.

What a great day for the Tridents.

The Tridents play their final two roster games again tomorrow including a game at 11.00am against Melbourne Pulse and Perth Suns at 12.15pm before the finals commence at 4.00pm. The top five teams will battle it out for the premiership from 4.00pm with all games being telecast live on Fox Sports and Kayo.

Ladder after Day Four:

1. Melbourne Pulse 33 points
2. Brisbane Pirates 30 points
3. Moama Steamers 30 points
4. Melbourne Extreme 27 points
5. Tasmania Tridents 27 points
6. Adelaide Pioneers 24 points
7. Sydney Lions 21 points
8. Perth Suns 18 points
9. Gold Coast Hawks 15 points
10. Tweed Heads Ospreys 15 points
