PHOENIX!

Higher power higher self for years I haven’t known myself.
Who am I?
I met a robot telling me what I have to do and who I have to be.
I saw it through the mirror and
That robot was me.
Scared out of my mind thinking I was crazy as s**t.
After years of darkness; I was blinded
I began lying to myself unknowingly
As if I’m in a burning house but I can’t see the flames
Just the exposure as the walls turn to ash
But I just keep digging
Fixated on what happened in the past
But instead of accepting, then letting go I placed blame.
Thinking that’ll take away some of the shame
The shame only grew stronger
Water under the bridge and I was drowning in it!
I’m looking for familiar life rafts to save me at this point and p**f they were gone
Afraid to be on my own still I swam a long way all alone
No regrets no shame life has to teach us in its own special way
