Ben + Chelsie, two incredibly warm, kind, and sweet humans who took a chance on me as I familiarize myself with shooting photo 😅

C & B are married and Ben is in the military about to go on deployment for a year. They don’t have have photos of their wedding, so I am extremely humbled to capture them. Being in a military relationship myself, I know my love for my partner has grown incredibly strong because of it. You learn to trust, lean on, and love each other in ways you never thought you would. It’s not always easy, but it’s absolutely always worth it. So yeah, this shoot tugged on my heart strings a bit in all the right ways. 🥲

This seriously was so fun and special 🤍 I can’t wait to keep learning/shooting!

It’s been a very long time since I’ve posted something personal here, but here it goes!

Now, not to be a downer, but something has been weighing on me lately and I wanted to share. This year has been very tough in the wedding world for me. Very. Tough. 2022 is the year right? But since moving across the country, I’ve faced so many challenges. If you get it, you really understand.

Behind the guise of running your own business “effortlessly”…is a lot of effort, a lot of failure, and a lot of getting back up and dusting yourself off. We all know this. The truth is, it’s been a little harder these days.

But everyday I choose to pick myself back up and dust myself off regardless & see the beauty in what the world brings me everyday.

I’m so blessed that my work isn’t all that I am. I’m a whole person with other wants and desires and my worth doesn’t even begin to start nor end at how well I do on this platform or in my work life. Absolutely not. I’d be scared if I genuinely believed that!

SO. Tomorrow’s another day and another opportunity and also it’s okay to not be constantly booking or have a full schedule 😊 If you’ve been feeling similarly, I’m right there with you. And it’s completely ok 💌

Have a case of nostalgia, so I edited a few getting ready photos from my friend Carly’s wedding last October. Capturing people you love gives certain moments so much meaning, and I don’t get to do it often. I’m glad I have these, because seeing these familiar faces smiling back at me warms my heart so much🖤

Among all the joy and happiness of a marriage celebration, the day can sometimes remind couples of painful feelings, memories, and challenges that they didn’t know they’d ever overcome - or are still overcoming in life. Sometimes these hardships are acknowledged in vows, revealing how much they’ve been up against to be here on this day.

I think that’s what makes weddings so fundamentally beautiful. There’s always more than meets the eye, another part of the story, raw truths to put it all into perspective.

Life isn’t always easy, but to spend a day celebrating all the good, bad, and everything in between, with all the important people. It’s amazing.

Oooof deep breath here. "I need a second" just like Eli 😅 These two..these...two.

So, I've been editing away at this film so eagerly excited to share Miriam & Eli's day. I've been at the edge of my seat for weeks now.
