We meet Sheridan & Jake on a chilly Sunday in January for their Missoula winter engagement session. Sheridan tells us her favorite photos of the two of them are when they are laughing. We are here for capturing the raw, uncut, emotion between two beautiful human beings. It just feels real. It’s relatable. At that moment, it’s like every crazy thing happening in life is just melting away. It’s a window into the love of two people that you just can’t fake. Life is messy and complicated, and sometimes love is too. It’s worth fighting for. It’s showing up as messy, authentic you and being loved because of it. 🥰

It’s hard times. It’s great times. It’s messy, everyday life. ✌️🏻

That’s what love is. It’s loving each other regardless. It’s showing up every day. It’s loving hard. It’s loving passionately. It’s loving every single damn day.

Social media is one of those double edge swords (at least for us). Sure, there is this really wonderful, warm community here that inspires us. We have actually made several friends here! (Oh heeeeey 👋🏻)

On the other hand, it can be insanely time consuming. We find ourselves stuck at our desks scrolling, playing the comparison game when we should be more present in the moment.

Veils come in all shapes and sizes. The long, cathedral veils that follow your dress train, all the way to the short blusher veil that falls just past your shoulders.

No matter which one you choose, consider how it will look in photos. We prefer the longer cathedral veils because when the wind blows, it is absolutely MAGIC.

The BEST MOUNTAIN WEDDING VENUES IN MONTANA countdown continues!

The Glacier Outdoor Center is the closest wedding venue to the west entrance of Glacier National Park and is one of our favorite mountain wedding venues in Montana. In less than 1 mile, you can drive into West Glacier and explore all of the beauty the park has to offer. We love stealing couples away for their sunset session into the park. Your guests will be in awe of your wedding ceremony with this backdrop. The open air reception area is perfect if you want to feel connected to the mountains even as your reception is in full swing.

The venue's event coordinator, Amy, is the nicest person you'll ever work with. When the party is over, your guests can stay at the cabins onsite. Activities in the area include white water rafting with and hiking in the park (we love the Avalanche Lake, Hidden Lake Overlook, and the Highline Trail the best).

The Mission Mountains right behind Sky Ridge Ranch make it the perfect place for your mountain wedding venue in Montana dreams to come true. As soon as you arrive, the "wow" factor really settles in as you soak in the views. Their ranch's indoor space is absolutely stunning with tall ceilings, lots of natural light, and tulle in the rafters. Dance out on the patio with the twinkle lights as the sun sets behind the mountains.

The Best Mountain Venues in Montana

Yeeaaah you're definitely going to want to stop the scroll for this one. Let's be honest, you are probably getting married in Montana because mountains set your soul on fire. Your guests travel from all over the country to share your love of each other and the gorgeous scenery. There's no better destination than the Montana mountains. We are right there with you!

White Raven is hands down, without a doubt one of our favorite Montana wedding venues of all time. Not only are you on top of the mountain, with gorgeous views all around, but the property is HUGE. You could take your guests on a hike and still not cover all the grounds. You can either drive the golf cart up for some stellar mountain sunset views, or drive the short distance down to the river. The design of the indoor reception hall, the outside dance area (yes, with twinkle lights), and the many ceremony locations on the property makes this a dream come true wedding venue.

2️⃣
Of all the mountain wedding venues in Montana, Chico Hot Springs is truly a one stop shop. Not only are their mountain views spectacular, (I mean look at this place!) but they offer accommodations, catering, bar service, and dessert. Who could ask for anything more??

3️⃣
320 Guest Ranch shows off the mountains in style. As one of the all time best ceremony views in the state, we love this spot. It is nestled up in the Big Sky Canyon, so your guests will fly into Bozeman International Airport. From there, you'll drive up a windy road to get to this paradise. Cabins, great food, an amazing hike right out your back door (ahem, Ramshore Lake Trail), fly fishing, and horseback riding will keep your guests occupied.

Being a part of such an incredible love story like Ariel & Richard’s is why we love what we do. This is the secret sauce. The special “oomph” that keeps us coming back for wedding after wedding. We are SO blown away by the pure happiness and love for this couple. After all of the happy tears, hugs, and laughter, we know Ariel and Richard are meant to be!

1️⃣Rock that Burgundy Color Palette
Say what you want about the pastel colors, but the burgundy color palette is one of our favorite fall wedding ideas. It's sophisticated, it's classic, and everybody looks great in it.

2️⃣Dark and Moody Tablescape
If you're looking for the festive vibe, add in the jewel tone water goblets and Montana pinecones. Did you know that pinecones are not only Montana locals, but they also make for festive table centerpieces.

3️⃣Naked Cake with Dark Accents
You had us at "cake." Don't leave the sweet treats out of your fall wedding ideas. If you're interested in an unexpected twist on a traditional wedding cake, add in those dark flowers. Don't be afraid to add in some color with your jewel tones too.

We could tell you how Jordan's dress looks like it came straight out of a jewel filled Great Gatsby movie, and how absolutely stunning she looked. Their wedding party is filled with their closest friends and family. It's so clear that Jordan & Tim are so madly in love. You can tell by the way Tim can't take his eyes off her. We could tell you about their wedding colors and how every couple will want to take notes. The maroon, pinks, and golds paired with the gorgeous blooms on the arch blow us away. You might think this is just another styled shoot, but no, this was an incredible/beautiful/inspiring wedding.

After heartfelt, personal vows, a few photos with the wedding party, and some love from family and friends, these two snuck away to enjoy sunset and a gorgeous Montana view... Here's the thing, with every wedding day, we want our couples to peel themselves from the party to take a deep breath, to really look at one another as a bride and groom, and to pause. The days go by in the blink of an eye, but moments like this will seriously last forever. 🙌🏻
