These are oil paintings of my grandma's bar and pub formally located in Oklahoma. My Grandma Hattie was 13 when took her moms (Ms Lilly) life and ruined a Long legacy of generational wealth for her family. Although this wasn't a talked about subject in my family. My Grandmother Hattie's determination was something to be admire. For some reason, people weren't able to rebuild their lives there in Tulsa, where the massacre took place, but she did, however manage to move right outside of Tulsa in a small place called Sandsprings Ok, where she eventually build her bar and pub right on her land next to her home there. Although racism still exist, my grandmother's pub was a Place everybody came to chill play pool and have drinks. My grandmother was known for her chili and her Chili dogs. Although Mean Jean is not directly named after her, it is named after another strong woman in my life, which is my mom Jean. As a kid she will let us come inside the bar. Where are you see sheriffs the mayor Hawkeye, other people, chess, enjoying themselves, black and white. It didn't matter. They all got along at my grandma spot. I watch her serve him up drinks and I would ask her if I could she would let me hang out with Otis but she never let me make the drinks. She also let me serve it dogs sometimes.. the most fun was putting quarters inside of the jeep boxes and listening to music that I had never heard before because I was from California. My grandmother owned her, live her building, and all her real property cash out no debt. My memories of her to nasty as part of my vision for Mean Jeans. When I get my building this painting will definitely be hanging on the wall.
