Elegant and exotic feeling tutu in aubergine, ivory and champagne.

Featuring 9-layers of scalloped, alternating, ivory and almond stiff net with a decorative double top layer of soft net to add a beautiful fullness and speckled glitter tulle to sparkle under the lights. A hoop casing has been included so a hoop can be added at a later date to extend the already long life of this tutu.

The leotard is made of a beautiful matte, aubergine 4-way-stretch lycra using the Aurora pattern from Tutu’s By Dani, with the faux basque on the front and back, giving this a very sophisticated feel. The pants of the leotard are in matte ivory 4-way-stretch lycra to match the layers of net.

The leotard and plate are decorated with dark gold venise lace with an exotic design, making this perfect for an Odalisque or Gamzatti variation as well as a tutu for some strong choreography. It has been bejewelled with AB crystals in siam, hyacinth, golden peach and fuschia.

💚 Rose 💚

Another couple of my tutus made it on the stage today at .dancefestival (I think!) How I wish I could be there to see all my tutus and their dancers on stage, but actual work has to come first sometimes.

This is one of my favourite tutus I’ve made, the seaweed green is just so unusual but is stunning on the right dancer, as you can see here on Rose. With her beautiful red hair it’s a match made in heaven.

Very excited to show you all the tutus I’ve made for that had their first wears this week, but I’ll save them till later!

Red & White ♥️🤍

This lovely tutu is made of a rich, ruby red Italian Lycra. The bodice features a rouched bust in stretch mesh, giving a little bit of something extra special. The tutu is made of stiff, scalloped net with an ombré effect - white sparkles on the top layer, through shades of pink to matching red on the bottom layers (9 in total). A hoop casing is included on layer 4 in case it’s needed in the future - this tutu is built for longevity! The tutu has been embellished with silver venise lace trim, with floating motifs in matching silver, and has been bejeweled with red, crystal AB, siam AB and hyacinth AB crystals to capture the light and sparkle on stage.

💜 First in a long while 💜

Beautiful of wearing my Amethyst tutu. This was made as part of a set, very loosely inspired by the Balanchine ballet ‘Jewels’ (of which there is only Emeralds, Rubies and Diamonds). My set was made for 5 dancers, so there is an Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire, Topaz and Amethyst. Was a fun project and I love that each of the tutus stands up beautifully in its own right!

Wow I’ve been MIA from socials for a long time! 😳 Not for lack of doing costumes though - I’ve just been making things faster than I can photograph them! 📸

Today starts the enormous, physical, behind the scenes process of costuming for a dance school concert.🎟️🩰 is run by my Mum, Lisa, and I. An additional part of my job is basically the entire costume department. I outsource as many costumes as I can to keep costs as low as possible for families, but for more specialised costumes these are handmade, and I volunteer my time to do this. This year I’ll be making lots of costumes from scratch, as well as putting together pieces I’ve outsourced to create a custom costume. 🪡🧵

I thought my students and families might like to see what this process looks like, so follow my stories and posts for a glimpse into what happens behind the scenes. 🌟

Pictured here is .ballet of performing as plate from “Be Our Guest” at in August. The costumes for this production number were originally made in 2010, but the plates were a bid sad and needed a freshen up. Short notice and outsourcing to the rescue, I used leotard and a half tutu, made a set of customs plate overlays “no pun intended” and a new set of armbands to give these plate characters the whimsical vibe needed for Beauty and the Beast. I love the pure joy in Tabitha’s face here! 💜

I’ve known Nat since she was a tiny little dancer at and have watched her blossom into an incredible dancer over the last few years at ✨

Making this Odalisque tutu for Nat to wear at in NZ was such a privilege. So proud of the young lady you’ve become 🩵

A little throwback to this lovely lavender tutu I made last year for Lily.

Featuring glistening lavender Lycra leotard and tutu plate, over a white tutu with a top layer of silver glittery tulle. I’ve also added in a cheeky layer of lavender tulle to create an ombré effect under peeking out from under the plate.

This tutu has been decorated with silver venise lace and embellished with silver crystals and AB crystals in shades of purple.

Orders for custom tutus from June onwards will open shortly, and some RTW tutus are on their way! ✨

This gorgeous little brand new RTW (ready to wear) stretch tutu is ready to find it’s dancer.

Made for a dancer roughly child’s size 8-10, this tutu features a fully lined, stretch leotard in soft ballet pink, with a 8 layer tutu. The top layer of the tutu is the softest bridal tulle in pastel tones of pink, blue and yellow. The second layer is a soft glistening bridal tulle in bright white which adds the slightest sheen under the lights. The remaining 6 layers range from white to matching ballet pink at the bottom. The bodice and plate have been decorated with silver venise lace, and bedazzled with hundreds of crystals in AB peach, pink, lemon and moonlight to catch the light. The photos don’t do justice to how sparkly this tutu really is!

Made to last, this tutu uses stiff net to retain its shape, and includes a hoop casing for a hoop to be added in a few years time if needed. The venise lace on the bodice has been lovingly hand sewn, and the lace on the plate has been machine sewed - so there won’t be any peeling or discolouring glue in the future.

This gorgeous little brand new RTW (ready to wear) stretch tutu is ready to find its dancer.

Made for a dancer roughly child’s size 8-10, this tutu features a fully lined, stretch leotard in matte Tiffany Blue, with a 8-layer tutu. The top layer of the tutu layer is a soft glistening bridal tulle in bright white which adds the slightest sheen under the lights. The second layer is a matching Tiffany Blue net, which peeks through under the white. The remaining 6 layers feature white to and a few layers of Tiffany Blue to match the bottom of the leotard.

The bodice and plate have been decorated with gold sequined lace, and bedazzled with hundreds of clear and aquamarine AB, scattered with blue zircon crystals to really make the stunning Tiffany Blue pop.

Made to last, this tutu uses stiff net to retain its shape. The gold lace on the bodice has been lovingly hand sewn, and the lace on the plate has been machine sewed - so there won’t be any peeling or discolouring glue in the future.

Day 1 Thailand haul. I bought a bunch (thousands) of staple sew on gemstones that I use on tutus and headpieces, and lots of coloured crystals and beads for headpieces. So satisfying to walk around a shop and find these in person! ✨

I’m excited to announce that orders for tutus and costumes for 2023 are now open! Limited spots are available for costumes required for May 2023, so get in early.

Prices for tutus start at $450 and are dependant on leotard choice, fabrics and embellishments. Prices for all other costumes start at $200.

Lovely Lily of performing her first Classical Solo at 2 weeks ago, in her brand new tutu. 🩰

This tutu was made for the LCDC collection, but custom made to fit Lily. It features a soft purple shiny Lycra bodice and plate from on a white tutu with a sparkly top layer and a hidden purple layer to add an ombré effect. This tutu is decorated with silver Venise lace and glitters with hundreds of crystals in shades of purple and AB. ✨Armbands and Tiara were made to match this tutu.

Lily placed second for this solo, and she persisted through her ribbons coming untucked which can be a freaky moment for dancers! Congratulations Lily! 💜

Lily’s Dad also runs a branding business and made himself this hilarious hoodie, featured in the final photo. I think it would be a hit with dance dads everywhere! 💰

To say I’m chuffed with this would be a bit of an understatement. I’m SO proud of myself. I’ve still got 5 weeks to get these finished (tagged, hooped, decorated, sparkled, armbands and headpieces to go) so I’ve definitely got a long way to go, but I enjoy having time to do it well!

Now to sleep and hope my left shoulder relaxes overnight as it’s currently just about glued to my ear!

That’s a loooooot of feathers. 💙

Just finished working on my first commission, and the worlds most sparkly tutu ever. There’s been so much glitter in my house that my cats have been doing sparkly poops for 3 days. Can’t wait to share the photos tomorrow, it’s pretty special. ✨

A balmy evening outside spraying appliqués. 🌤 While they look like a good silver to start with, against the tutu I’m working on at the moment, the silver is way too pale. So in we go with the fabric spray paint to give them the right density of colour before hand sewing onto the tutu! 💗
