Popping on- It’s been a minute! And I want it to be longer. Do y’all ever feel social media is just too much? I have a very hard time posting or engaging anymore because holy moly this app drains me. It has of course been such an awesome way to connect with all of you wonderful amazing people! But the social media grind has just really killed my spirits and I am honestly so gassed. Tall Poppy has a home!!! 4 years and 6 six months have gone by since I started this little flower business and in all of that time I dreamed of the day I would be working in a dedicated space. Walking in the door of my very first studio today brought tears to my eyes as this long term dream becomes reality. Having a space dedicated to Tall Poppy, outside of my home, means so much for me and my business. All the things I’ve held off on over the years and planned for when the time was right and the space was right all have the potential to now begin.

Beyond excited to bring more of my ideas to life. And beyond grateful for the love and support you all have shown me. It wouldn’t be possible without your support.

Boi, howdy! I’ve gotta say, I’ve missed y’all!

Thanks to everyone that came out today to my various drops: those that got blooms, those that tried to grab some, and those that couldn’t make it but would’ve loved to. And big thank you to my hosts - and . Amazing folks with kickass businesses I hope you all get the opportunity to support.

Flower opportunities like this one come once in a blue moon- all rescued product from an overstock destined for the dumpster.

I am humbled and honored to have y’all’s continued interest and support even while I’ve closed my everyday arrangement orders for over a year now. I cannot express what all it means to me as I look to the future of Tall Poppy…it’s a little glimmer that when it’s time for Tall Poppy to come back at full capacity, and beyond, that it’ll be met with enthusiasm.

I continue to work quietly every week on flowers and strategizing the future of my business. I can’t wait for that time when I get to serve you all again on a regular basis.

I’ve come to a conclusion. While it isn’t the happiest of sorts it is the right one for the time being. I love flowers. I love sharing them and my work. I love that you’ve loved them. However in every story there are two sides. Bright and sunshiny is what you’ve all mostly seen and I am beyond grateful for any support shown to me. But a less happy side is that this business has drained me of all energy - emotionally, mentally, physically, and financially. I’ve done too much and given too much of myself in this business and to less than wonderful people to the point where I am spent. I will keep a few accounts and continue to do weddings and events minimally. My priorities lie with the organization that actually pays my bills and with myself. Until a future time when I have the space and time to dedicate the energy to grow this business - remember to stop and smell the roses. Much love 🌸 Sam

Wowowow! What a week/weekend y’all!

First of all, thank you for your orders, words of encouragement, and love. Every bit means the world to me. I LOVE to share my work with you. I am so grateful y’all find it special enough to want to have for yourselves or share with your loved ones.

Second, special thanks to my amazing friends for helping me this weekend with deliveries, the market, wrapping mini bouquets, and really making the entire weekend possible. I entirely couldn’t have done it without y’all.

Last but certainly not least, a recap on the weekend! The STUNNING x TPF vases flew off my site and why wouldn’t they!! Omg I love them so much. Anita is an incredibly talented artist and I have loved working with her. We hope to bring you more exclusive offerings in the near future 🥰
Next, so honored and excited when reached out to work with me on providing mini bouquets for a GWP to their customers. If y’all know anything about my closet....it’s 90% Madewell so...ya, I was stoked and super tickled to work with them!!
Thanks to the talented for reaching out to have me help with florals on her install for takeover of the sign in Austin! So fun!!! And wrapping up the weekend, market was a toasty blast and loved making bouquets on the fly for everyone that came by! For the final-final cap to the weekend check my stories today for a sneak at what I’m prototyping. Once there’s something to fully reveal you won’t get me to shut up about it.

A gorgeous flower to help share the reminder that we must hold all persons accountable, especially those in power. We must remain ever vigilant to see through that all people are treated equal and that justice actually exists in our world. The move for justice and equality isn’t over and will not be until we dismantle the systems of oppression created by the standards that uphold the values of white supremacy. A step is a start but we have countless miles to cover. Hold each other up and let’s keep moving forward. ✊🏼🌸 Sam

I meant to post this months ago but something happened to my edits on these pics and I lost the motivation to redo them lol...trying again.

I wanna use these odd-er edits and set up as a reminder to go after whatever brings you joy. It does not matter what people think about how you creatively express yourself. However something moves through you, it’s right. Also your expression of self is probably...definitely going to change overtime! If you’ve been with me since the beginning or just venture a scroll back to my beginning posts you’ll see the change in my work.

I chose to start Tall Poppy before I ever felt ready. I chose “go ugly early” because eventually will never come. And I keep my “ugly” up and there for all to see because I’m dang proud of where I’ve been because it isn’t the product, the visual, the thing that people like...its the abandon to pursue joy through an avenue that shares an experience and moment in time where we can all be present.

I am so grateful for anyone curious enough about what I do to be here and to want to see more. I am grateful I went ugly early and for every lesson I’ve learned throughout the journey. Having people to share my work with has been the greatest reward for throwing myself out there, ready or not.

Anyway...go, get after whatever it is your heart is calling you to do. Much love 🌸Sam

Looking at my feed I guess you can say I like ranunculus with 6 of my last 7 photos fully including them. Can you blame me?! They’re such a stunning flower and these especially blew me away. Btw it’s butterfly ranunculus season and they have a long vase life so...get after it. I love to include them in my arrangements 🥰

The darkest times are not without their sunshine.

Free flowers tomorrow for pickup at Gold Coffee, . You will be able to make your own bouquet. Gold will be open 8AM until they sell out of beans and cold brew, so come early.

If you wish and have the means to, please make a donation via Venmo, Zelle, or cash. I will be directing the funds to continued disaster relief efforts.

These blooms were meant for Valentine’s orders but as we all know, Mother Nature had other plans. They’re no longer usable for my standard and I can’t bear to see them just waste away - much rather know they’ve fulfilled their purpose 🌸

Rebuying stock to fulfill the displaced orders and will have those out for delivery by Monday/Tuesday.
