August’s birth flower is the Gladiola! ✨✨✨ This beautiful flower is used to give arrangements a feel of elegance and height. The name of this gorgeous flower comes from the Latin word, “gladius”, which means sword, and the flower is sometimes called a sword lily. However, it is actually in the Iris family. ✨✨✨
It can be found in almost any color except blue; it is a perennial plant that blooms in late summer.
A final interesting fact about the gladiolus is that in Europe, it was used for a remedy for baby’s colic when mixed with goat’s milk, as well as a remedy for removing splinters. 🌿🌿💐💐💐
