I don’t know whether it’s because of the shoddy weather recently or the masses of people in the Mount , but I was much more grateful for a break away than usual this time.
Waiheke island is one of my favourite NZ gems of a location for all the things I love - wine, food , nature and wine again.
While we were there we discussed a few life and bizz goals for 2023 and decided that less pressure on ourselves this year was the way forward, and to ;
Be more assertive. Stop overthinking phone calls. We’d let go of one-sided friendships. Learn to invest and actually do it. Spend more money on professional learning and growth. Not feel guilty for taking a time out from the world for a while ( and I mean really take a time out - phone off). Provide a wider and larger platform in our events for more minorities and go on more adventures. Always more adventures 💚

BAR

The main bar at The Rising Tide will be open as well as the On-Deck Bar. We have moved the stage outside because of the bangin’ weather but you can boogie throughout the venue.
Free water will be available all throughout the night ( keep yourself hydraaaated) , Johnny's Dumpling House will have a limited hot food menu available and The Tide will have an Events Menu for the evening. This will include non alcoholics, a bunch of their most popular beers, ciders and RTDs, wine and bubbles.
The inside toilets as well as portaloos outside will all be accessible.

SMOKING AREA

Smoking and va**ng are prohibited inside, va**ng is fine on the deck, but cigarette smoking must be done on the driveway only.

HEALTH, SAFETY & SECURITY

Your safety is our top priority. Have all the fun, you deserve it, but be safe and look after your mates too. If you see anything suspicious, speak to the staff or security and we will make sure you are safe. If you see anything dodge, please do not hesitate to let us know.

And lastly, please do not drink and drive. Other than the fact there will be cop-stops everywhere, you are putting yourself and others lives at risk. We have let local taxi drivers and ubers know that the event ends at 1am, so there should be plenty outside waiting.

I am no food critic but wowza , Friday night’s are something else entirely . This was the first meal we had in a long time where every single dish was 💯- (got major Melbournian vibes) and the Organic wine list is 😍😍😍.

The last 6 months have been a whirrrrlwind 🌪️.
I couldn’t quite fit all the events on the post , but I am SO damn proud of each and every one of them.
After finishing up a valuable 6 years at and , I set off home to Europe for a few months not knowing what was next ( lil scary) and jumped in head first to my passions when I got back to Aotearoa soil in June.
Since then, I have met the most incredible people along the way , smashed out 4 successful Women on Tops , raised thousands of dolla for different charities and organisations, had an event with one of my fave Masters of Wine / had countless fan girl moments with Women on Top wāhine, have multiple contracts with local businesses and have secured some awesome work with large scale events for 2023 .
I’m so excited for more Blabla Events in the year ahead in different cities across the country, meeting more beautiful humans and having the opportunity to provide a safe, inspirational, inclusive and uplifting platform for our event-goers.

Next stop is New Years Eve to ring out the year , and that’s about to sell out!

After a huge sell out last year, Bangerz is back and this time we are rockin’ up to Mount Maunganui to take us back to the good ol’ days of the 70s, 80s, 90s & 2000s in an epic countdown into 2023 - with no traffic lights in sight!

This one is for the Throwbackers, the Time Travelers, the I-don't-really-like-NYE-but-I-should-do-something-ers, the brew lovers, the mounties, the out-of-towners and basically anyone who was born in the last century.

Legends / DJ Duo 'Pretty Fly & A White Guy' will be smashing out your fave BANGERZ of the late 1900s (thanks Gen Z for that) right on the tanks of the legendary Mount Brewing Co Brewery so grab your groupies and come celebrate New Years Eve at our favorite Mount Maunganui Brewhouse -

We HIGHLY recommend you dress in the attire of whatever decade of Faw-shion you get the most mirror kicks out of, and be ready to boogie all night long. We will even be dishing out a few goodies to those who reeeally go to town with their decade wear.

Disco Balls and old school Party-Favorite games will be at hand throughout, and the trusty Tide will be dishing out Mount Brewing Co’s finest bevs from the main bar and the On-Deck bar.

Queenstown / Tāhuna you were a dream! Massive thank you to all who attended Women on Top at on Friday , we hope your belly was as sore as ours from all the laughing!
We raised $2351 for Central Lakes Family Services through a few auction items and $5 raffle tickets alone, so that thank you extends to all of the wonderful businesses that supported , and our amazing guest speakers who made the night such a success.

We’re just a few days away from our first Women on Top event in Queenstown! Our final speaker for this Friday at is the one and only Jo Cummins - you may only recognise Jo as a walking V@gina which is all part of the job when you’re a Co-Founder of .
Jo will be hopping on a plane with us and for a Tāhuna weekend break so if you’re at AKL or QT airport on Friday keep an eye out for a walking vulv-a.

A little about Jo - Some crazy things happened during the great lockdown of 2020 haven’t they? One fine day over a lockdown pink gin, Jo Cummins and Viv Conway ‘toyed’ with an idea of a wellness product that would satisfy women and not so long after the brand GGO was born .
Jo is the other half of this rapidly and ever growing women’s brand which is becoming so much more than just a little pink vibez. They have just last week launched their new product ‘ TIFF’ in Sydney, Australia and have been reaping in the awards and achievements. They recently took home the Best Up and Coming Business award at the Girls In Business NZ Awards and if you haven’t already seen them in Woman’s Day or talking about their ‘sandwiches’ on Seven Sharp, you may have come across their controversially hilarious billboards to promote GGO across Aotearoa.
Jo and Viv have been absolutely amazing support for Women on Top, and both have spoken at previous events in the Bay of Plenty. We can safely vouch that once they whack out the Miss Mini reviews, your night will be made.
GGO are now sitting at near 80k insta followers and are rapidly gathering thousands of buyers across the South Pacific. The brand led by Jo and Viv is now crushing the taboo and leading the way in normalising healthy conversation. This. is. so. important.

Next on our line up are the wonderful wāhine , sisters Karmela and Maria Rapata. These two absolute gems are were already hard at work as soon as we contacted them to let them know we were coming to Tāhuna. Before we could even blink they had offered us personalized Airport pick-ups and booked us dinner at Blue Kanu. There is a reason these two wāhine are winning awards for their business.

Combined, Karmela and Maria have over 27 years of shared tourism and hospitality experience and together they saw an opportunity to connect and grow with the people of their region and in 2020 joined forces to create

I am a shameless wine fanatic and have carefully curated a fair few Drinks Menus around our beautiful beach town. I’d say it started during way too many years managing in the hospitality industry, but it was actually back being a Derry girl having pre-drinks before very late nights out that I started dabbling with then not-so-fancy-vinos 🫣.
was a vibe in Tamaki Makaurau this weekend with over 300 wines to taste and over 70 wineries , but the above are definitely my top picks for those of you who give a sheeeet 🍷 , I mean these 4 wines are absolutely 💯.

Queenstown! Meet your Women on Top Host - Rachel Taane.

Rach was a guest speaker at our first Women on Top event and her story took a real hold on the attendees from the get-go. What used to be a life of addiction, hardship and suffering at the hands of domestic violence , her rock bottom has flipped over time to one of endless love and support to those less fortunate. Not only does Rach have a loving family and husband ( who she also jumps on the Tour Manager bandwagon for among her many hats), she is a registered Social Worker and gives her time tirelessly to her workplace - Tauranga Womens Refuge . She is a fearless advocate and voice for victims and survivors of domestic abuse.
Her story is a colourful story to share, but her journey is one of what can only be described as of pure bravery, survival and endurance.
Rach is also one of the funniest, most culturally respectful and knowledgeable people I have ever met , and I am constantly being bombarded with messages after every event with how much people have loved her hilariousness on stage . She doesn’t take it all too seriously , there’s a few F bombs on a good day , and it’s 💯 real - which is a reflection of what our events are all about . 🤍

We will be raising awareness and auctioning for Central Lakes Family Services at the event.

Last night’s first Blabla’s Secret Society was so fun and huge thanks to all who attended 🤍.
I always catch myself deep in thought for weeks after listening to a guest speaker and this was by far no exception - learning about the marine world that lives in our Tauranga Moana AND about how our brains work and develop has had me in a few day dreams already today 😄.
Our next one will be in November in a new secret location so keep an eye out for the Event release 👀 🍔
