So many of you will be receiving some pretty Valentine's Day arrangements this week, so here are some helpful tips to get the best vase-life out of your flowers! ⬇️
1. Trim the stems! Think of the stem as the mouth of the flower; if left un-trimmed, bacteria can begin to build up and prevent water from traveling up the stem to hydrate the flower. This one can be tricky if your stems are being held in place by foam or wire mechanics, but if they're loose and you're able, give them a snip!
2. Change the water: As the flowers sit in vase-water, bacteria will inevitably start to build up. Changing the water often prevents the opportunity for the bacteria to thrive and be absorbed by your flowers.
3. Use your flower food: I always include a little flower food with your arrangements, use it! Floral food contains some key ingredients to help your flowers maintain their beauty: sugar (to give your flowers the energy needed to fully bloom), an inhibiting agent for bacteria and fungal growth, and also ingredients to lower the ph of the water. When that runs out, you can also make your own at home. A quick Google search will give you some tips!
4. Put your arrangement in the fridge: If you can make room, cooling your stems will greatly help the vase-life of your flowers! High humidity and lower temperatures help to preserve the integrity of your petals, leaves, and stems. Pop them them in at bedtime, and pull them out to enjoy again in the morning!
5. Keep them away from ripening fruit: Ripening fruit is a sneaky killer of flowers and plants because it emits an invisible gas called ethylene which is poisonous to flowers!
Take care of your flowers, and they will shine for you. ✨️

When I opened @wildbloomsaz in April, I never would have dreamed it would have brought so many incredible memories in the first year. It was so hard to narrow down my favorites! Mostly because there were so many other fun bouquets, but I was not the best about remembering to take photos, or organizing the ones I had 🙈. (Making note to fix this in 2023 😅).
To those who ordered, ordered again, told a friend, shared a post or even just liked a photo, I am so SO thankful for you; it truly means the world. It has been an absolute honor to bring cheer into your celebratory days, your just-because days, hardest days, and biggest days of your lives!
