February was filled with Tulips and candles

Tulips galore.

The weather may be grey and gloomy but this party was definitely the opposite. Bringing the vibrancy and fun, a room filled with Tulips always gets the party started. Anyone that knows me understands my obsession with pinks and oranges, so this was a win from the beginning!

Paperwhites filled the room with a heavenly scent as well and who doesn’t like a table that looks and smells wonderful.

Woven within this party are meanings of love and care, energy and enthusiasm for a new decade, perfect for a birthday celebration.

I love this time of year, it’s perfect for reflecting on the year so far and getting ready for the crisp colder months.

I always find myself looking into the next three months and wondering what the last part of the year will bring. Whether it will bring love, growth, bounty, creativity or good fortune. It’s funny how the language of flowers for autumnal blooms all have an undertone of change. As the leaves turn orange, the language of nature moves from love and joy to hope and expectation.

I hope you all have had a wonderful equinox (although it has been very wet!) and that the autumn gives you time to reflect and look forward.

We have had some new followers here lately so I thought I would introduce myself and Dahlia and de Renzy.

My name is Frances and I run Dahlia and de Renzy. I am a redhead completely obsessed with flowers and anything with orange and copper tones ( maybe that’s something to do with the hair?!) With the help of lots of cups of tea I’ve created Dahlia and de Renzy to bring together floristry and floriography.

Dahlia and de Renzy is based on stewardship to nature and to our clients. We aim to be as sustainable as possible, championing British flowers and growers and supporting the local community. We are completely led by the seasons working in collaboration with nature and not against it. We are also ambassadors, helping to educate the local community on sustainable practices to take into the wonderful churches in our local area.

Inspired by the language of flowers we create sentimental and unique designs for our clients, holding their emotions right at the centre of every design. Every project is carefully thought out creating designs that go beyond just being beautiful but also are deeply personal.

ORANGE PARROT TULIPS ~ survival and energy

Last May these orange parrot tulips brought all the drama. Parrot tulips symbolise a survival against the odds, as their unique and mutated petals burst through the ground. Combined with orange symbolising energy and a zest for life, they really the zing into Spring.
