And then, one day in June, at a church event, his pastor's wife brought in a puppy! Sometimes pictures are better than words: This is Fiona, (yup, I found another Shrek fan!) she's an accidental cross between a golden doodle and a great dane. Seems like she is going to be more doodle size. These pictures are from July and earlier.

So... the next chapter of how it went from good friends with time on our hands: to best friends having the time of our lives... Goes kinda like this: after many hours on the phone and video chat, (MANY! Ask my parents...I spent a lot of time at their house during lockdown.)... I had a company meeting in Utah. (Which is kinda near to Idaho by comparison.) And Mike offered to pay my flight if I'd come for a visit. Just as friends, not a date. The meeting ended up being cancelled so my 4 day visit became 2 weeks. I was initially taken aback by the flight offer. So I asked if I could contact his pastor. He was happy to ablidge and the pastor not only have a good word, but said "there's a family who can probably host you." I was wondering what God was up to now...host me during the plandemic? Sure enough! And thus our friendship blossomed for the next two weeks. I began to realize that I had been in love with him for awhile but didn't really recognize it as such! By the time my return flight was leaving, I let it go back without me. I wanted to see what this was. I am enthralled with northern Idaho culture of freedom and patriotism and I have never been anywhere nearly this pretty! His church reopened the second Sunday I was there with signs that said "Welcome Home!"... I knew God was up to something!... 2 b cont...

How we met: we were both using a chat app (not a dating site) for Christian fellowship. Mike was just "one of the guys" that talked as a group of us in there. ... The site grew in popularity and started to get too busy to get the microphone. So several of us started using a smaller group. That's how we started becoming friends.. but still romance wasn't the purpose. as the lockdown hit, only one dealer in my industry stayed open, in Utah. In May there was a training class at her office. Mike said "that's a short flight from me, I'll buy your ticket if you come here for a visit." I thought "Sure, we'd already have met if we lived closer. And besides, we're just friends, but good ones."... To be continued...
