For those new to Delph village, you might wonder what Party in the Park is all about. This fantastic event was originally set up to raise money for our village Christmas celebrations. The funds help pay for fireworks, Christmas trees along King Street and High Street, lights on the main trees, decorations, and everything associated with the lights switch-on day.

Today, Party in the Park still supports our Christmas traditions, but we also aid local charities, clubs, and associations when possible. Most of the money generated is spent back into the community for the purchase and upkeep of lights and other improvements, like the beautiful trees across from the White Lion last year.

There are several events throughout the year, but Party in the Park is our best chance of keeping Delph's Christmas traditions alive. Without its success, maintaining and improving our festive celebrations would be much more challenging.

So please, help us make this year's Party in the Park a success. Come along to support the event and enable us to keep Delph's Christmas lights some of the best around. Light switch-on night is a favorite for many of us, and your participation makes it all possible.

📣Party in the park 📣

We’ve been asked recently by several of the newer arrivals into Delph village what party in the park is for and why, we had presumed, clearly incorrectly, that most people knew so wanted to update everyone so that you are aware of the key links between village events.
Party in the park was first set up simply to raise money for the village Christmas celebrations, money raised pays for the fireworks, all of the trees on king street and high street houses and businesses, the lights on main trees and decorations as well as everything associated with lights switch on day.
To a great extent this remains the same today, we also support local charities, clubs and associations when able but most of the money generated is spent back into the community with purchase and upkeep of lights, improvements when possible as with the trees across from the white lion last year.
There are several other events throughout the year of course but party in the park is our best chance of keeping the Delph village Christmas traditions going and if it doesn’t make money it will be an enormously more difficult challenge to keep improving and maintaining the celebrations.
So please help us this year to make party in the park a success and come along to support the event and enable us to keep the Delph lights some of the best around, light switch on night is one of our favourite events as I’m sure is true for many of you.

The dates we are looking at doing the Delph Elf home visits on are either Sunday 17th December or Saturday 23rd December. If you are interested in booking a home visit from the Delph Elf for a voluntary donation on either of these dates please pop us a message🎄

🎄DELPH CHRISTMAS LIGHT SWITCH ON 2023🎄
This years light switch on will be on the 25th November.
Like previous years we will be having Christmas stalls inside of St Thomas’ church - these will be priced at £30 a stall and all money goes towards Wake Up Delph Community to help pay for things throughout the year such as party in the park and next years Light switch on.

Here are all the details for this years light switch on 🎄
We have Christmas markets running from 12pm-8pm INSIDE at St Thomas' church (we still have spaces available should you / anyone you know want to run a stall on the day). There will also be the return of the much loved Delph Elf who will be periodically available for photo opportunities infront of a backdrop in St Thomas' church and will also be parading with Santa and Delph Youth Band for the switch on 🎅🏼
As always its bound to be a fantastic day and night with lots to do, eat and drink available.

ITS THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN !!!!
This years Christmas light switch on is being held on Saturday 3rd of December 🎄 with official details of the switch on being shared at a later date.. we are currently looking for people wanting to have a stall at our Christmas markets. These will be INDOORS at the light switch on and will be open between 12pm and 8pm and will be £30. If you are interested in having a stall please pop us a message on here ☺️

Quick post to let you know that Party in the park will definitely be going ahead as planned on Saturday, after some reflection we’ve decided that we can take it as an opportunity to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s life and we’ll plan to show our respect during the day. It doesn’t feel like the right thing to do to cancel a community event raising funds for charity and from her approach to life and charity events not something she would have wanted done.
We’ll be trying to get the message out to as many people as possible over coming days so we’d appreciate your help in spreading the word please.
