The Mother behind the Paint Fairy 🧚‍♀️

Hey! I’m Corinna. I’m 33 years old and a mummy to 4 beautiful boys 💙. I was a nursery nurse of 13 years. So you could say kids are my world........ LITERALLY! 😊 I love going on nature walks, having days out as a family but love duvet days with the kids watching films just as much. I hate that I’m such a perfectionist and I’m such a messy person. I’d love one day to take my boys on an aeroplane and my dream is to one day take them to Disneyland!

I bet you’re on my page wondering my reason behind being a face painter?!? Well the answers pretty simple. From being young I loved to draw, especially Disney! Then through school I took Art as a GCSE. I consider myself quite a creative person in general. At parties I would love watching face painters and sit there thinking I’d love to do what they do.

This brings me to my 31st birthday, when asked by my mum what I wanted, I asked her for a facepainting starter kit. I’ve never been so excited to receive a simple box of paint! Since Lockdown I’ve just been building and building the kit which has become quite an obsession and gained a qualification in facepainting. My days are now spent in Hobbycraft and The Range and searching Amazon for new paint colours and glitters 🙈 I spend my time learning new tips and techniques watching videos on YouTube and practicing them on my eldest boys. They are simply amazing and so supportive of me as well as my friends and family. I’ve along way to go in this adventure of mine but I live by the motto ‘If you want something so bad go out there and get it’. I want to show my boys that their hopes and dreams are possible if you put the time and commitment in.

I’m currently looking into taking my talent further and making facepainting into a proper side business so anyone out there with their own business and has some handy advice and tips for me I’m all ears and it would be very muchly appreciated 😁 I’m happy to come along to any events people may have such as birthdays, christenings as the practice would benefit me most definitely!

My first event I was nervous like you can imagine until a little girl propped herself up on the chair in front of me asking me to paint a rainbow. Looking into her big beautiful brown eyes and at her gorgeous smile that’s when my mindset shifted. My job was to make that smile even bigger and leave her walking away a happy little customer and that’s exactly what happened. She leapt back off her chair running to her mummy so proud of my work. It was such an amazing feeling and gave me the confidence I needed to get me through as many children as I could in that hour. To think I was so nervous at the start! I made lots of kids happy at the party, especially the birthday boy and that in itself I knew I had done my job 🥰

NOTE I’m not as fancy as some face painters it’s just little me and my kit and I’m still learning as I go along but that doesn’t mean to say I’m not good at what I do! I prefer to paint freehand and limit stencil work which I hope is what gives me the edge to some face painters around.I’m looking forward to continuing learning new skills and techniques with my new found journey and have a great feeling the best is still yet to come!

Hey how is everyone?? 💗

It’s been 3 months since I last painted faces I’m missing it so much! I finally found something I had a passion for and something I was actually pretty good at 😩

This is just a little message to everyone to say be proud of how far you’ve come and all you’ve got through all ready and hold onto seeing that rainbow at the end of this storm. They do say storms don’t last forever 😘 Most of us are lucky enough to still be able to work others are not so fortunate. Be sure to check in on your friends.

So for the past few months or so my amazing friend Kim Pickering has been working her backside off to design me my very own personalised logo for my facepainting business as well as running her own business too. I think we’re nearly there!!!! 🙊

First attempt at a tiger butterfly using my practice head. I felt a difference in application with it being rubber and not actual skin but happy with my first go 😁 Applied a filter to emphasise the colours in the butterfly.

Toy Story’s a big hit with my boys so Reece especially asked to be Buzz Lightyear today 💙

Most face painters advise against painting children 3 and under as precaution as they find they struggle to keep still for a period of time and with their young skin still developing there’s no guarantee they’ll develop a reaction to the paint although most paints used are non toxic.

Now Reece is 3 and sat quite well for a good few minutes. Yes, his bum wriggled, he wanted to hold my paints and his head wobbled a good few times too but he managed to sit through having his face painted. We had fun naming the colours so there are pros and cons. Sometimes I think the key is patience! 😂 and realising it might not turn out exactly how you want but that’s OKAY!! 👍🏻

He did have a dabble in my blue paint as you can see 🙊

Dragons are so much harder to paint than I thought they would be but I think I did quite well. Lewis had his own little input on what colours he wanted the dragon too so I’m happy to do that with future customers also to make the design more personal 😁

Don’t fancy having your face painted? Why not try something different? Mason loved having his arm painted. This spider design was super quick and easy to do and with a little bit of added glitter very effective 😊 🕷

Hey Everyone! 💗
I would just like to say a massive Thankyou for continuing to like and share my page. Every little notification has been so reassuring and I’m still determined to carry on with this passion of mine. It’s been very surreal these past few months but it’s so nice to see so many businesses getting back up and running again. 🙌🏻
Over the next few weeks while my boys are off school I’m going to be painting some new designs. Let me know if there is anything you’d like to see 😁 I may even do themes for each week so if you’re little ones are interested in anything let me know 😉
