And so it starts, trekking with 3 year-old and 6 year-old. Definitely something new.
We worked so hard to get here, after my Everest expedition, my father falling ill in hospital, and finally oldest son Dawa caught food poison on Lukla.

Rotation update: slept on Camp 3, 7,300m high on April 28th, and was feeling strong to go up in the morning, but there were no means yet.
Back to Camp 2. A second attempt to sleep on the South Col yesterday, May 1st: we were met with 10 inches of fresh snow and a full white out, upon touching the Lhotse face, at the continuous sounds of avalanches, with the promise of more snow for today. It was an easy call for me to turn around.

... And so it is that the world's first press release will happen on Everest Base Camp!!

The press release will now happen on Thusday April 21st, to fit in with my schedule of arriving to Base Camp. We will run it twice, first at 9am UK time then again at 9am Pacific.

LIVE from Everest Base Camp we will be releasing the BIOCOSMOLOGY articles we have worked on for the last 2.5 years.

My fellow co-authors, what an amazing ride creating this science has been:

Marina Cortês will appear fully styled and made up as a principal ballerina about to enter the stage in Act II of Swan Lake — Odette — a role for which she has trained all her life, starting at age 10.
Simultaneously she will be carrying an ice-axe, climbing ropes, jumar, and the gigantic 8,000m Himalayan gloves. She is currently training to summit Everest, in 8 weeks' time, without supplementary oxygen, so she will complete her tutu and point shoes outfit with the famous `One Sport' 8,000m Summit boots.
And now wait for the best: she will do all these at her work place, in front of the telescope - the Lisbon Astronomical Observatory.
