Ashley and Justin traveled from Ontario to elope in St. Martin's, New Brunswick.

In their ceremony script, Jess weaved together words that were not only informed by Ashley and Justin's love story but also deeply inspired by their unwavering commitment to each other.

As the sun danced back and forth behind the clouds, the waves ebbed and flowed below them, and the Quaco Head Lighthouse stood guard, their ceremony in this idyllic setting painted a picture of a love that was destined to transcend anything that might come their way.

A lot of different kinds of people choose to elope because an elopement means you can get married your way, and this includes choosing a location 📍

Whether you want to get married in your living room or backyard, in an old historic train station, along the Fundy coastline at sunset, at the end of a (short) hike to a waterfall, on the dock of your camp, or at the place you first met—the possibilities are endless when you choose to elope.

Helping couples choose a location—where we will create space for your marriage to begin, is something that we love to do.

Whether you have an ideal location in mind or want to brainstorm ideas, one of the first things our team does is help you identify and arrange a location that aligns with your vision and honours your love story.

Our principal planner and photographer, Shannon-May Photography loves researching and learning about new location options, and when possible will take the time to scope spaces out in person. She draws on her 12-plus years as a wedding photographer to identify the ideal ceremony spot for magnificent photos.

If eloping is the right option for you and you want to get married your way in New Brunswick, we’d love to help you make that happen.

Reach out to us today—we are now booking for 2024. Inquire here: https://www.newbrunswickelopements.com/book

We are so exciteed to introduce you to Renee—our Elopement Accomplice.

When we began the process of looking for an “Elopement Accomplice” last spring, Shannon-May always had Renee at the forefront of her mind as the ideal candidate. We are so happy this idea became a reality.

Renee is passionate about creating beautiful event experiences for couples getting married in New Brunswick and we are honoured to have her as part of our team.

Renee will join us for select elopements as needed when the unique location and logistics require.

When Renee is not working alongside us, she is supporting couples as a wedding planner through her own company, .

She also works part-time as a registered nurse with New Brunswick’s tiniest patients and enjoys life with her son and husband.

Renee's organized, nurturing, and joyful personality makes her the perfect “elopement accomplice” to support our team and our couples on the elopement day and to step in as a witness for couples who want to elope secretly.

Renee will also be available to provide additional decor services to our couples who would like to further customize their elopement with additional decor.

As a team Shannon-May, Jess, and Renee create space for elopement ceremonies that are 100% inspired and influenced by a couple’s life together and the origin story of their love.

As your New Brunswick Elopement team, we believe in quality or quantity.

This allows us to devote the amount of time, heart, and soul that our personalized experiences require. Therefore we can only accept a limited amount of elopements each year.

We are now booking for 2024—reach out via our website to learn more.

When you choose to elope, you're choosing simplicity.

You want a personal and meaningful ceremony and timeless, editorial photographs.

Beyond that, you are hoping to bypass the endless decisions that might come with planning a full wedding.

We help make all that possible.

Camilla and Jamie contacted us on a Tuesday, and that following Friday they were married!

We’ve always wanted to help a couple elope with only a moment’s notice. And we’ve always wanted to host an elopement at

Camila and Jamie’s trust in us made both dreams come true.

We loved being able to use our connections, creativity and expertise to pull together their perfect for them elopement!

We loved helping Daniel and Sarah plan their perfect (secret) ceremony.

Deanna wrote the most beautiful ceremony and guided Daniel and Sarah through it as they committed to forever.

Their parents and grandparents stood as witnesses and I don’t think there was a dry eye among anyone, including us!

We helped them find the perfect (private) ceremony location in St. Andrews—where they could also honeymoon for a few days afterwards. And did portraits on the beach where they were engaged.

It was perfect.

Happiest of Anniversaries to two of the most beautiful people we had the pleasure of working with last year.

I still feel the magic of their day and recall the stillness that fell over us all as we stood on the edge of the Southwest Head Cliffs on Grand Manan Island and these two exchanged their vows.

It was such a magical experience and we are grateful to have played a part in their beautiful journey together.

What makes our elopements truly special and deeply personal?

We specialize in creating space for your love story, and the unique aspects and experiences of your relationship, to play centre stage in every part of your elopement.

We love the flowers, fine details, and beautifully created spaces that are often associated with a wedding. But at the heart of any wedding is the ceremony and, when you choose to elope, all you have is your ceremony.

Creating space for elopement ceremonies that are 100% inspired and influenced by your life together and the origin story of your love is what we are the most passionate about and called to create.

Our elopements go beyond legal formalities and transcend traditions, rituals, and denominations.

Your story alone will determine the elements of your ceremony and anything else you wish to include will be the supporting characters.

If what we do aligns with heart and how you’d like to begin your married life, then we’d love to hear from you.

Who are we?

We are Deanna and Shannon-May—your New Brunswick Elopements Team.

They say weddings are a great place to meet someone. This was certainly true for us.

We met at one of the most beautiful and difficult wedding ceremonies either of us had been to. Both of us were volunteering our services to a couple in their home.

Deanna performed their marriage ceremony while they were cuddled up together in a hospital bed and Shannon-May was there to document the tender, joy-filled and difficult moments.

Creating sacred space for them to share their love for one another through intimate vows, painful laughter, and deep sadness and photographing these moments was an incredible honour.

This was their wedding ceremony and their final days together.

The circumstances were tragic but we knew something incredible happened in that room that day. When you meet someone in these circumstances you know there is so much more to them than the trade they have chosen.

We both have a passion for people and their stories and this is what brings us together.

Creating New Brunswick Elopements allows us to create beautiful and intimate soul moments with you and your partner. Together we will help you plan, execute and document your most remarkable day.

We have a new website!!

We've been working on this new website with the Magnolia Marketing team and are thrilled to have hit publish on the site earlier this week.

It's more than we could have ever hoped for. Eternal thanks to Lindsay at Magnolia Marketing for her work, and for her patience—Deanna and I took our sweet time doing our part on this 😬

You'll also notice that we have a new name!

It's actually not new to us—it's our legally registered name, but we decided to use the new website as an opportunity to introduce it.

We'll continue to use New Brunswick Elopements and Elope New Brunswick interchangeably... because NBE just sounds better!

Check out the new site—let us know what you think!

Love & Sunshine,
Shannon-May & Deanna

We have the most exciting news!

We’ve been working with Magnolia Marketing in Saint John for the past many months to create a custom website that better reflects the beautiful experiences we strive to create for our couples.

With the new website will come a few other changes and necessary updates. But our commitment to creating heart-centered elopements remains the same.

Deanna Balcarras is not only our co-founder, but she also writes and performs all ceremonies for New Brunswick Elopements.

In fact, Deanna's ceremonies are the centerpiece of what we do!

New Brunswick Elopements work with couples who want more than a legal formality. Our couples want a careful, thoughtful, and meaningful ceremony. We take time to listen to your story - from how you first met to why you have chosen each other as a life partner. Your story is sacred and your ceremony will be designed and written to honour it.

Deanna will be your officiant, weaving together your story to create a sacred space and a personal script for your elopement ceremony.

When you book one of our limited edition elopements at the Algonquin, you will have Deanna writing and performing your wedding ceremony.

Elope at the Algonquin, limited edition elopements are available on December 16th or 17th, 2022.

Use the link in our bio to book your elopement.
