The role of AI in my works. About the original cosplay based on fan art from the Naruto fandom. A collaborative creation between the artist, cosplayer, and costume designer.
AI. I've spent a lot of time thinking about how and where it could be effectively applied in my work: from creative photo manipulation to writing descriptions and selecting tags, anywhere to simplify tasks and free up time for rest, creativity, and learning. I've seen designers on Etsy and even costume designers from TV shows experimenting on social media with costumes generated by AI. Eventually, I began to distinguish such AI-generated works.
I decided to experiment as well. In the world of design, where the combination of technology and art breeds innovation, I found an excellent assistant in artificial intelligence. Integrating AI into my workflow and design process has been a leap forward. It's like a canvas that paints itself, where AI algorithms become the initial strokes of creativity.
Artificial intelligence in my workflow acts as a time machine, speeding up the design phase, generating complex patterns and motifs that would take countless hours to create and draw by hand. It's like having an endless palette of ideas ready to be brought to life.
But let's not confuse this efficiency with replacing the artist's strokes. Although AI provides a great starting point, there are concepts and nuances that can only be achieved by the human hand and the artist's eye. Using AI assistance in creativity is a dance between technology and human ideas, where every step is guided by intuition and experience.
For example, the embroidery scheme for this design's shirt was entirely based on an AI sketch, but I had to work manually on the robe, then finish the drawing in Photoshop. My colleague then developed an embroidery program pattern. I still have ideas and pattern drafts that I definitely plan to bring to life. This process excites me.
By the way, this is an original cosplay for my client based on a drawing by an interesting artist, sorceressmyr (from Instagram). The originality lies in the concept of fan art of Sasuke and Sakura as love-struck elves. It's a very cool concept for an original cosplay that I enjoyed bringing to life.
I've attached a photo, so what do you think? Naruto, elves... mmm... Everything I love. How do you like the idea?
My collaboration with artificial intelligence in the design process has given me something invaluable: time. Time was not just saved but also used to enjoy life, seek inspiration in the surrounding world, and focus on personal growth. It's a reminder that the heart of creativity beats not in the tools we use but in how we use them. In my case, artificial intelligence is a bridge to a more expressive, fulfilling artistic journey.
