We believe in nurturing future theatre going audiences by presenting live theatre in a beautiful outdoor setting. We believe in providing local artists the opportunity to work alongside visiting professionals. We believe in the power of theatre to change lives. Artist's and Audience's alike. We believe in adding to the rich and varied cultural community that the central coast already enjoys. We believe watching Shakespeare outdoors, with a delicious picnic dinner and a fine, fine bottle of syrah is just about as good as it gets. We believe you should come see our shows this season. We believe that work is love made visible. We believe in spit takes. Oh, yes we do

If you have a fine, fine bottle of Syrah, and would like to discuss our philosophy, or help us out in any way, please email Zoe at [email protected] or call (805) 546-4224

Mail should be sent to PO Box 175, San Luis Obispo, 93406

Did you miss us? Because we sure miss you! We’ve been hard at work behind the scenes—organizing our storage unit, holding board meetings, securing more microphones, and cheering on our actors in their performances. Our hearts are full, and we’re so grateful for this amazing creative community.

And guess what? We’ve also been busy planning our next season! Stay tuned for our season announcement!

Meet the costume designer, the final touch in establishing the Medieval time period and detailing each character’s background. Are they noble? Have they come from a battle or perhaps weathered a storm? Costumes add depth to each character through elements like hats, sword frogs (the loops that hold swords on belts), and even the colors of a garment. Roger brings history to life through his designs, integrating it seamlessly into the play. Which design is your favorite? Let us know in the comments!

Meet our dedicated stage team. After years of moving around the county, we've found our home at Filiponi Ranch, where our talented set creators have built an incredible stage. Al brings an artist’s eye for detail, as evident in our new throne and the gorgeous chateau stage he designed. Tim, a highly skilled contractor, constructed the sturdiest stage we could hope for, while Bob is always busy crafting new platforms and benches when he’s not acting on stage. Come see our beautiful stage under the oak trees from July 19 to August 11.

Each brings unique expertise and passion, from ensuring the actors hit their marks and fine-tuning our new sound equipment to cleaning up stage blood before someone slips. The show wouldn’t go on without our talented crew.

Meet the friends of Lear. While Lear battles his mind and family, Gloucester is also blind to his family's intentions. Which of his sons is pretending to be the opposite of who he is? Luckily, Lear has good friends to walk him through the storms: Kent and The Fool. Still, Goneril’s meddlesome steward might make matters worse.
