The wedding industry to swirling right now with many vendors feeling on edge due to lack of boundaries and poor client to vendor communication.

Unclear expectations, delayed responses, last-minute changes and ghosting can turn what should be an exciting experience into a stressful one for both parties. Here’s what you can do to avoid those headaches and work seamlessly with your vendor team:

1. Know What You Want, but Stay Open to Expertise – Bring inspiration, but trust your vendors to guide you toward realistic, high-impact choices.

2. Respect Response Times – Vendors manage multiple events at once. A 24-48 hour response time is standard unless it’s an emergency.

3. Understand Pricing and Policies – Every vendor has set pricing, minimums, and contracts. Read through these carefully to avoid confusion later. And remember the price does not always reflect a product. You pay for expertise.

4. Book Early and Finalize Decisions Promptly – Last-minute changes can increase costs and limit options. It can be stressful for vendors who want to work with you but are subject to too tight turn around times. DO NOT request a proposal/inquire if you aren’t in the process of booking; it’s wasted time and often results in vendors being ghosted because couples inquire with too many vendors and become overwhelmed.

5. Let the Experts Do Their Job – Micromanaging slows the process and limits creativity. Hire professionals whose work you trust and give them the space to deliver.

Clear communication and mutual respect create a smoother experience for everyone involved. When both the couple and vendors are aligned, the result is a wedding day that feels effortless.

I am the wedding vendor who doesn’t prefer talking on the phone or even video calls but I do it because that is what many of my client’s need to feel connected.

But if you don’t prefer it that’s fine too! (I know it can be a chore to show up on camera in a quiet place looking well presenting when you are busy.) We can do everything electronically if you need too or if you want do the zoom with our cameras off! No pressure and all results. We’ve added these preferences to our inquiry form.
