Another great day for our youth Mustangs at the TNAAU Region 4 championships!

We had 7 wrestlers compete and 5 placed in the top 4 in their bracket, which qualifies them for the state tournament! Here’s your 2023-2024 Mustang region wrestlers:

Our practice gym is being used for a high school event tonight. The Collierville wrestling club has invited us to join them for practice tonight. They practice in the auxiliary gym at Collierville High School:

Practice will be 6-8pm.

Tues 1/2: NO PRACTICE (come out to see the high school dual meet against Cordova and White Station @ 5pm, if you’re available)

Weds 1/3: Please come out to the high school dual meet against Bartlett @ 5pm. This will be our special Mustang Youth Wrestling night. We’ll have pizza for the kids and they’ll get to step on the mat and be recognized in front of the home crowd at being part of the Mustang Youth Wrestling Club.

Thurs 1/4: Practice @ 5:30pm

Great wknd of wrestling for the Mustangs! We had 8 wrestlers take home hardware from the Arlington Welcome to the Jungle tournament. Our placers were:

Two Mustangs travelled to Louisville KY for the Bluegrass Nationals. Against some very tough competition, Redd Topp took 3rd place and R***r Topp took home 5th place.

Last night's Mustang Wrestling Club Takedown Tournament was a gigantic success! Thanks to all the kids, parents, and volunteers who made this special event happen for our kids! We saw lots of takedowns, lots of great competition, and lots of friendships being made!

HELP NEEDED at HHS King of The Mat high school tournament on Sat 11/11

The Houston High School wrestling team is hosting their King of the Mat high school pre-season tournament tomorrow, Saturday 11/11. They need helpers at the tournament, specifically to help with the scorers' table at each mat (they'll have several mats running at once). They often ask youth wrestlers to help "towel tap" the referees, where they'll run onto the mat and tape the referee (often with a rolled up, taped up towel) when the clock hits 00:00, so the referee knows when time has expired.

If your grappler is available and would like to help with a high school tournament, our HHS Mustangs would surely appreciate it. The tournament runs form 9am to about 5 or 6 pm and they can show up any time and stay as long or short as they like. Just inform the ticket takers at the door that you're with the Mustangs Youth Wrestling club and you'll get in free and they can put your young grapper to work.

We had a great turnout for our first practice of the season last night!

We're taking the night off for Halloween today, but we'll be back on the mat on Thursday night. We're ready for our fall sports wrstlers to join us when they're available.

We have a fun season in store. Be on the lookout for Bring a Friend night, Mom's Night, Dad's Night, and WrestleMania, among other events. We're going to have a great season!
