R***r Topp took 6th place in Midget 95
Redd Topp took 5th place in Midget 103
Wren Nail was STATE CHAMPION in Midget 113

These young men put in a LOT of hard work this season and it paid off. The future is bright for Houston Mustangs Wrestling!

Another great day for our youth Mustangs at the TNAAU Region 4 championships!

We had 7 wrestlers compete and 5 placed in the top 4 in their bracket, which qualifies them for the state tournament! Here’s your 2023-2024 Mustang region wrestlers:

R***r Topp (Midget 95; 1st Place; state qualifier)
Redd Topp (Midget 103; 2nd Place; state qualifier)
Wren Nail (Midget 112; 1st Place; state qualifier)
Hayden Kauffman (Middle School 105)

Our practice gym is being used for a high school event tonight. The Collierville wrestling club has invited us to join them for practice tonight. They practice in the auxiliary gym at Collierville High School:

Colierville, TN

Practice will be 6-8pm.

We will be back in our usual gym at our usual time on Monday 1/29.

Congrats to our Mustangs on their amazing performances at the Mid-South Youth Championships this wknd! We wrestled a lot of great matches against some tough local competition. Here’s how we finished:

Here’s our practice schedule for this wk (Jan 1-5):

Monday 1/1: NO PRACTICE (Happy New Year!)

Tues 1/2: NO PRACTICE (come out to see the high school dual meet against Cordova and White Station @ 5pm, if you’re available)

Weds 1/3: Please come out to the high school dual meet against Bartlett @ 5pm. This will be our special Mustang Youth Wrestling night. We’ll have pizza for the kids and they’ll get to step on the mat and be recognized in front of the home crowd at being part of the Mustang Youth Wrestling Club.

Thurs 1/4: Practice @ 5:30pm
