The hurricane that hit this last week was devastating for many and I know it can be hard to focus on anything else right now except taking care of your family. I hope everyone stayed safe and sound during this time.

Happy Monday!

I want to start the week off with some Monday Motivation/Tips! There are several ways you can preserve your wedding day flowers. Here are my favorite ways to preserve your wedding day flowers:

1. Press your flowers between glass
2. Hang your flowers upside down to dry out
3. Submerge them in silica gel
4. Make (or have made) a resign piece of art
5. Dip flowers in wax

All of these are ways to preserve your flowers! For each method you can either do them yourselves or hire a professional to do it for you. Whichever you decide make sure you do lots of research on the method you choose! Preserving your wedding flowers can be beautiful artwork for your home and you can look back on your special day for years to come! ✨

Happy Monday!

Today I want to talk about wedding venues! Wedding venues is often the first thing a couple books when they get engaged (even before a planner!) for a number of reasons.

The question I seem to get a lot as a planner is, “how do i choose a wedding venue that’s right for me?” There’s a few ways to know if a venue is right for you. A few seem obvious and other things are not so obvious.

1. Is it in your budget?

This is the most obvious question, you can’t blow most of your overall budget on the venue and then have not much left for anything else. The general rule is 30% of your overall budget should be your budget for your venue.

2. Does it accommodate your guest count?

This is important because venues will not allow you to book if your guest count goes over what they can handle.

3. How do you want your day to feel/look?

While touring venues make sure you pay attention to how a venue makes you feel. This feeling will only feel amplified on your special day once the venue is dressed up!

4. Consider your guests experience

There are many ways this can be taken. Is there accommodating parking? Will they have to walk far? Is there easy/even terrain that your older guests can easily walk to and from their car and around the venue? These things are important to consider when choosing a venue because as much as this day is about you and your partner, your guests should also be considered!

These are among the most important but there are many more things to think about when choosing a venue 💕💍

Let's talk wedding florals and communicating with your florist 💐 ⁣

Tip #1: PICK A COLOR SCHEME! Make a mood-board on Pinterest or Canva (these are free!) and pick a few pictures with arrangements of those color schemes to include in your mood-board ⁣

Tip #2: List what kind of flowers you'd like to be incorporated in your florals and bouquet! Bonus tip for this one, if you only like how a certain flower looks with another flower, tell your florist! The more info you can give them, the better!⁣

Tip #3: Make another mood-board giving an idea of what you want for your florals and where the placements are. For example if you want floral sprays on your chairs or a rounded ground arch for ceremony, say that and show it! I promise there is more than likely an example picture of what you want somewhere on Pinterest or the internet. If not, talk it out with your florist! I am sure they'd be thrilled to work on a new idea with you⁣
