A change is coming to the PAGS page. Two years ago I (Terry Noxel) created the page as a link from my personal FB page. We did this because the PAGS Instagram page was/is managed by someone who doesn't use FB. ;-) There was a whole lot of duplication of efforts (Thank you Carey Williams for doing the FB posts this year)
It's time to change it and link the PAGS Instagram and pages so that the PAGS admins can post announcements once and auto-populate. So when this page "disappears" later this week, have no fear...it will be be replaced.

This is for gourds that may not fit in another category. I submitted an entry that is a character and copyrighted.

After the 11th, entry fees are higher for both members and non-members.

11 days! Don’t forget about-

Trash to Treasures table- if you have some items to donate, please bring them along.
Volunteers- we Could always use more helping hands- if you have a few hours to spare, let us know😊.
Raffles- we will have the raffles and there are wonderful items! If you have anything you’d like to donate for the raffle, please let us know.
Gourd competition- make sure to enter your gourds for competition- there are always unbelievably amazing gourds in the competition!
Many vendors with raw gourds, crafting supplies, tools, pieces of art for sale.

Rumor has that someone from CBS Sunday Morning is coming to the PA Gourd Fest to interview Graham O and Reagan Bitler. Let's impress them with a full competition of amazing gourd art and great specimens of raw gourds.

Trash to treasures table at the Gourd Festival! Trash to treasures is an area where people can donate unwanted items and then others can have the treasures for whatever they fee they are worth. Make a donation you feel is fair for some amazing treasures!! You never know what you may find!

Looking for volunteers!
Can you help? The AGS-Judged Gourd competition at the PA Fest June 15th needs 1 more judge and 5 more clerks. If you can volunteer for about 3 hours on Thursday morning (9 am to noon) please let me know.

Perhaps you might be traveling with someone who can help even if you cannot.

Clerks don't need to be AGS trained. Clerks add up the scores that their team of 3 judges have awarded entries in a category. The three entries with the highest scores are given a ribbon (1st place = highest, and so on). If a tie is revealed, you ask the judges to re-judge the category to break the tie.

We will meet in the cafe area by 8:45 to receive instructions, papers, forming teams etc. Come a bit earlier for coffee & bagels that PAGS is providing the Competition workers.

Important deadline for pre-registration is June 11th. Walk-in's are okay, but the entry fees are higher and the process takes longer. More on that later, of course, but details are on the documents online or downloaded.

Lori Smith is a self taught artist who has always had her hands in some kind of artist endeavor. Her discovery of gourd art occurred when she was preparing a nomadic voyage across the country and wanted a hobby she could easily take with her. What began as a hobby has turned into a passion. She loves the versatile nature of the gourd and enjoys prowling museums for inspiration. When not covering a gourd in dust, Loti spends her time spoiling her grandsons and still experiences wanderlust , which is currently limited to day trips and short forays around the east coast. Eloise Stevens has been creating art with gourds for about 15 years. “Learning different techniques and enjoying how versatile gourd art can be has always excited me and kept me coming back for more. I find myself especially drawn to any type of gourd lights. Wheather applying beaded designs on gourds or applying decorative paper to diffuse light. I also enjoy carving or piercing designs on gourds as well as using different tools to create filigree art, letting light shine through the openings of the gourd”. Who will be at the Fest? Vendors! Front Porch Gourds will be at the PA Gourd Festival & Retreat, Sponsored by the PA Gourd Society.
The Scott’s will be bringing a wide variety of gourds to the gathering. Additionally, they will have an extensive stick of saws, equipment and materials. They have beautiful handcrafted gourds as well.

Visit for Welburn ink dyes, transparent acrylics, stick and burn, cleaner balls, pro carver, Fiebings leather dye, Quikwood by the tube and by the case, microlux saws, microlux blades, Proxxon saws.
