Six years ago I was on maternity leave with my youngest daughter and I was pretty certain I didn't want to return to my Deputy Heads position. I had fallen out of love with teaching and was resenting the time it was taking away from my family.
I saw an advert for Mess Around and was totally drawn in by their values and ethos -who wouldn't be!
Spending my days creating mess, having fun, meeting lots of new faces. It was perfect! It would take me two years to pluck up the courage to leave the rat race behind and become my own boss but I am so glad I did!

Mess Around West Suffolk launched in 2019 and in 2021 I took over the whole of Mess Around! I love the freedoms it has given me, I love the huge customer base I have met, many of whom I am still in touch with. I love walking down the street and hearing your little ones say "look! it's the messy lady"

Do I have any regrets? YES - just 1! Waiting 2 years to join, I can't ever get those two years back. I can however make the most of now!

4 years ago I was a deputy head in a primary school. My baby was 18 months old and had been at a full time nursery since she was 6 months. I saw her for half an hour in the morning and probably the same in the evening - I was miserable!

I didn't want to miss any more time with her, or my two older daughters. I had only ever trained as a teacher so had no idea what I could do!

I saw an advert for a Mess Around franchise on Facebook and was immediately drawn in, it was everything I was looking for. My own business, get to choose my own hours, and spend more time at home! It seemed perfect - and it was!

I started Mess Around West Suffolk in May 2019 and haven't looked back.
I got to go my then 11 and 9 year olds sports day for the first time ever, I got to take them to school on the first day, I got to be there for parents meetings, to help on trips and all the time running a very successful business!
