Did you know?

In the entry of the 20th century, because of industrialization and land claiming, many Aetas were forced to leave their native lands and wander in different areas. However, the biggest motivation for the migration of Aetas was the eruption of Mount Pinatubo in 1991. In 1986, a particular group of Aetas migrated from the vast mountain landscape they are used to, to the rising urban of Maharlika Village, Makiling, Calamba City in the province of Laguna. However, a new environment does not equate a better life.

This coming March 19 and March 26, 2022, we will be holding a Virtual Fundraising Concert for the Indigenous Aeta Community of Maharlika Village, Barangay Makiling, Calamba City, Laguna.

Don’t miss it out!

Did you know that there are different names referring to Aetas like, “Ayta”, “Agta”, “Atta”, and “Ita”. These are derived from the root word “it”, which in many Filipino dialects which means “itim” or "dark-skinned."

Aetas are native Filipinos who resided in many areas of northern to central Luzon
and some parts of Visayas as their ancestral lands. According to the Aeta tribe foundation (2017), ethnologists believe that Aetas are among the oldest living races, not just in the Philippines, but in the world. Many modern Filipinos can trace back their bloodlines from Aetas. This is why it is really important for us to help preserve their culture and work hand on hand on their survival as a population - they are a living historical archive of where many of us came from.

This coming March 19 and March 26, 2022, we will be holding a Virtual Fundraising Concert for the Indigenous Aeta Community of Maharlika Village, Barangay Makiling, Calamba City, Laguna.

We are pleasantly surprised by your overwhelming response to this project. It really seems like there are a lot of you who have a kind heart towards our beloved indigenous group. Thank you so much for your enthusiasm!

With that said, engagements do not tell the full story and the audience we will gather is still going to be our biggest capital. As of the moment, we are sad to say that we are not yet reaching the desired amount of registrations per day in order to secure the success of this project. Overall, we are aiming to reach a total number of at least 500 participants and earn a minimum amount of Php 25,000.00.

Regardless, we are still optimistic and we know that many of you will push through for the success of the effort and the benefit of the community. It would really mean a lot if you can spend a small amount to help contribute to a bigger change.

Concert slots will cost Php 50.00 per head.

Not all people enjoy the same rights and privileges. While some wake up to normal lives with their fair share of struggles, for some, every day is literally a battle for survival. However, the struggle takes another level when survival also means the preservation of
your culture and identity.

It is an established fact that the support system towards our native groups is truly lacking and the quality of their lives have never gotten any better. However, poverty is not the biggest issue the Aetas are facing right now. Rather, it is the emerging consequences from this unchanging situation which build thicker walls, stopping them to thrive as a community. This is represented by their seemingly endless battle towards cultural preservation. The Aetas of Maharlika Village are aware that the Aeta population is dwindling in many areas of the country and preserving their small community is their way to preserve one of the very first races in the country and in the world.

With this, every small contribution is a succeeding step towards this ultimate goal.

See you on March 19 and March 26, 2022 as we hold our first Virtual Fundraising Concerts for the Indigenous Aeta Community of Maharlika Village, Barangay Makiling, Calamba City, Laguna. Join us in our journey towards cultural preservation and influencing the effort to improve the quality of the lives of Aetas.

As you may already know, we will be conducting an online concert to earn donations that will help us purchase the supplies that are needed by the Aeta community in Makiling, Calamba. Besides purchasing their basic needs, we aim to help preserve their culture in our own way, influence the youth to join the cause, and provide further help to their community.

To make these possible, we invited several performers who are willing to share their God-given gifts for the benefit of those in need. However, it is you who are the true stars of the show as your kind donations would be the driving force towards its success. Ready your eyes and ears as you witness the spectacular performances we prepared for you!

It’s a fresh start as the month of March begins.

The pandemic took its toll on every individual and sector in the country. The news and social media platforms are full of stories highlighting the challenges the current situation has brought upon many people. However, there is a particular group that is often forgotten, though they are one of the most affected: our Indigenous people. In the context of this project, we are locking our eyes on the Aeta Community of Maharlika Village, Barangay Makiling, in the city of Calamba, Laguna. Their already unstable living conditions continued to worsen, and their sources of income, education, and supplies were also affected due to the limitations that COVID-19 brought.

With this, we are seeking to assist this community through a Virtual Fundraising Concert which you can directly be part of. It would mean a lot if you could extend your help to this community in need, not just to support them financially during these trying times but aid them in their goal of preserving their culture through the coming generations.

Concert slots will cost PHP 50.00 per head.
