We want to take a moment to respond to the comments on this post with care, clarity, and community in mind.

Irresistible Revolution is an organization by BIQTPOC, for BIQTPOC — and that distinction matters. We curate events rooted in joy, resistance, and expression, often with limited resources and a deep commitment to community over perfection. The flyer for this event was created by someone in our community, who generously gave hours of their time for free, for a one-day party that’s meant to bring people together. That labor deserves respect, not public scrutiny or condescension.

We’ve seen critiques that suggest we “should have hired a graphic designer.” But let’s be clear: the assumption that we have access to paid labor for every aspect of what we do is a privilege, and frankly, an entitled one. Not everyone has formal training in design, and not everyone has the time, capacity, or institutional support to gain that training. Choosing to use AI was a creative decision made within the means and skill sets available — and it does not negate the intention, labor, or love put into the final result.

To those outside our community: we are not here to tailor our process to your standards of what art-making “should” look like. It is a form of audacity and privilege to attack the work of BIQTPOC creators who are navigating a world that constantly devalues our labor, and then offer unsolicited advice as though you know better. That posture echoes the entitlement and control historically wielded by white supremacy — where BIQTPOC are only allowed to create if it fits within someone else’s idea of value.

We will not do more labor to appease commentary that refuses to recognize the context we create in. We uplift expression in all its forms — whether it’s through brushes, code, or AI. And we hold space for growth, experimentation, and celebration without needing to justify our worth or choices to those who don’t walk with us.

This is a BIQTPOC-led space. Please move with care, or don’t move here at all.

If y’all have been wondering where the funds from our past fundraisers have gone, here’s an example. This is just one of hundreds of families our autonomous group of advocates has been able to support. There is no nonprofit—just brave and courageous angels who have dedicated their lives to this work because it is what the world needs.

Continue to fight and push. Please do not lose hope. Please continue to donate, share, and comment. Although we are not hosting fundraising events, the mutual aid efforts persist.

Our work is real—100% of what you give directly funds displaced Palestinians. This is MUTUAL AID.
