I just love the love that radiates out of this love song (did I say love enough in that sentence?).

My high school psychology teacher, who remains to this day one of my favorite humans almost 30 years later, used to have his students complete a love song project. That project has never left my immediate consciousness because I would hear new (to me) songs that I would use for the project. Mr. Kaufman would corroborate this, I'm sure. Upon hearing Fallen Angel, I messaged him and told him that if I were assigned the project today, this is the song I would use.

My laptop is dying and the cord also died. I'm getting a new one. I have to confess that when I ranked the songs on Friday in prep for this countdown I mixed up Aviation and another song that I'm going to feature tomorrow, but to be perfectly honest, the change is negligible because I love both songs so much.

This album came across my path at a time in my life when I just so totally needed it. It started to break down a wall around my heart that I didn't even know I had been building. I've been through some CRAP in the past year (I mean I know, we all have) and I was being Montresor to my own Fortunato (if you haven't read The Cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allan Poe, you should), sealing myself behind a wall so nobody could get in, not even the people who mean the most to me.

For this one to come in at 6 out of 8 in the countdown blows my mind away because I just love this song so much. And they only get better from here. I love the lush texture and soulful lyrics of their stuff.

(It even inspired me to start writing again so some tracks of their own might show up sooner rather than later, you never know.)

I haven't properly introduced myself. Hey, I'm Elizabeth Brown-Shook, the owner of this page. I once had a friend tell me that I was really good at picking out songs for other people that they really needed to hear in a particular moment. So I started choosing songs of the day and sharing them to this page, and offering to choose songs for others.

While choosing songs for people is truly a labor of love on my part, it also requires an expenditure of my energy, which, as a Spoonie, is precious. So I do it for tips. If you request me to choose a song for you and feel like it resonates, and the spirit moves you to do so, then please consider tipping. If not, or if you can't tip, that's okay too (believe me, I get that).

Recently, I "discovered" a new (to me) indie project (obviously I didn't discover them...they had already been around an entire year before I stumbled upon them), and their music broke down a granite wall around my heart that I didn't even know was there. The lead's birthday is next Saturday (a fellow Libra, which is probably why the lyrics resonated so deeply with me), so I'm going to be featuring their songs over the next 8 days (the "special thing" I was talking about doing earlier in the week).

So for the next eight days, I hope you enjoy the music of The Nineteen Twenty as much as I have.
