A Little History: On October 30, 1906, the New York Times printed verbatim the very first press release written by Ivy Lee, 'father of modern PR,' who represented the Pennsylvania Railroad. On October 28th, 1906, 50 people lost their lives in a tragic train accident. In response, Ivy Lee created the first press release. He not only convinced the railroad to distribute a public statement but also arranged a special train to get reporters to the scene of the accident. Story Time… By far one of my favorite career moments was leading the 60th Anniversary Celebrations for Scotiabank in The Bahamas! I was then head of marketing for Scotiabank’s Caribbean North region… in a nutshell, we crafted a 60-day celebration to engage customers, community partners, industry stakeholders, employees and the public! Unfortunately, back in 2016, I wasn’t taking as many photos as I should have been 🤦🏽‍♀️ but I found a few highlights! ✨

Professionally speaking... I thought I should reintroduce myself!

So what do you do (now)? That's the question people often ask for context... or to make themselves feel more comfortable. It's the answer that allows them to go, "ohhh, I get it, that's who YOU ARE." Funny right?

Truthfully, I've even put myself in a box in the past... shrinking to fit what makes sense to society or some internal pressure to define myself as X or Y to feel validated or normal. A conversation for another Monday maybe 🙂

Today, I am becoming more comfortable with my reality. I am a smart woman and a successful entrepreneur with diverse and valuable experiences and skillsets. Right now, I wear a number of hats... sometimes simultaneously! 🎩
