First post in a while and first home grown bouquet. Sunflowers , smoke bush and lots of gladioli in tropical colours.

Every florist or flower loving person I know seems to be posting Chelsea flower show. It all looks amazing.
As I’m not joining them i am posting something completely different. My fishy downstairs loo.

If I was asked what interiors I particularly dislike I would probably say seaside themed bathrooms. - Yet here we are. 😂. If this is just fish does it count as seaside themed ? Maybe the fish vase is a step to far. Random musings this afternoon.

What a wet day. Looking forward to summer returning next week.

The evolution of this window. This time last year just the beginnings of the extension. ➡️
This weekend it was sunshine steaming through while I sat with my morning coffee.
The inside of the house is done but I still have work to do on the flower bed outside, I’ve planted jasmine and a climbing hydrangea out there , I just need to put up a trellis and then the garden side of this window too.

I’ve got a flower delivery in today which doesn’t normally happen mid month but I want to update my website with new photos and I’ve got a few orders. I wish the the sun was shining like this today, everything looks so much better in this light. - Right then , must get on , breakfast , school run etc etc and then time to get creative 🌸💐

Im still here. I sort of seem to have taken a week or 2 of instagram. Its not intentional …
I’ve had a few trips up to London, I’ve been gardening and I’ve been trying to sort out the studio. - I’ve got a mouse in there I’m trying to get rid off, we bought humane traps and left out cheese but he’s not intrested. He also ate my dried flowers. 😠.
If I’m honest I think it may be a rat , when I last saw him run past he looked bigger than the trap. My mission this weekend is to get rid. Any advice on this matter is welcome!

Pictures are of last weeks peony bouquet for teachers after school play and me and the dog , the dog has been no help with the rat. 🙄

Next week I’ll be back, the flowers are growing and I’m feeling creative. Next subscription delivery is going out on the 30th, so check out the website if intrested.

That’s the end of the tulips for this year. It looks like I’m going to have a bit of a gap in my flower patch for a month or so while I wait for more to blooms to do their thing .

I’ll be ordering in all British flowers for any orders going out this month .

Studio progress - we filled the skip in two days, stripped out the manky carpet , took down some shelves, found mega cracks in wall, bought stuff to fill mega cracks and planned where dividing wall going . Then I fell down a rabbit hole looking at spiral staircases. - so overall !busy week. 😄🌸.

I’ve been sorting and clearing out the out building that will become the studio. At the moment it’s full of stuff as was our storage space during the renovation. It also has a pool table in it , it’s a studio /slash games room.

There’s lots to do but we are slowly getting it done. Sometimes the more busy I am in real life the less I post, fortnightly flowers still available and I will be updating the website this week 🌸.

I’m looking forward to the studio being a neutral space I can work and photograph flower in. I always thought I’d have some good neutral spaces to decorate or walls to hold bouquets in front of in this house - but the reality is my style is colourful and eclectic.

This is a lovely jug of left overs. There is all this chat about a penny in the water to make tulips stand up straight and prolong vase life, but also quite like it when they do their droopy, bendy , tulipy thing. 🌸

This is a lovely jug of left overs.

A bit of a break from the flowers and time for some home stuff.

This is the utility room. Back in November when this was being renovated and the cupboard doors arrived I got a message from the builder saying there would be further delays as the woodwork had arrived but it all been painted a very strange colour.
Long story short , he couldn’t believe anyone in their right mind would want yellow cupboards . Not only yellow cupboards , but yellow cupboards and a pink floor! -but I like them 😁💛 you?

Planning interiors for Rowan house and realised I basically want my house to look like soho home.

I bought flowers today because that’s what I like to do, it’s been so long and with moving and the studio full of stuff I’ve had no reason too.

This rental is 50 shades of grey and the whole of one side of the house looks into a brick wall. These poppys and ranunculus have helped brighten the place up. The vase isn’t very suitable but I didn’t bring everything with me.
Plus now I have more flowers on the grid. 🌸

Happy Easter. 🐣

We have just gone for a poke around our building site, lots has gone on while we have been away, it’s definitly at that worse before better stage, the land has been cleared for the extension and some internal walls upstairs have come down. It also looks like first fix has begun in a few rooms.

The garden looks lovely and the it was nice to walk the dog in the fields opposite again, it feels like we’ve been away ages and it’s really only just begun,

This afternoon I’ll be thinking about wall lights , both the placement off and which ones to buy, then off to super Mario film.

Last week we realised we weren’t going to be able to spend the next year living in a tiny house with no parking and living out of a bag . We decided to rent a house for a year and try and enjoy the time out of Rowan house.
We spent the whole weekend moving and are now living in a decent sized house in middle of Hove, Bob has a garden , we are 30 seconds from the beach and for the first time ever we can walk to school. 😀

Today is blustery and cold , the sky is moody but I’m looking forward to the summer living by the sea. 🌊

The builders have started work back in Burgess hill, it’s going to look a lot worse before it gets better . I’m sure there will be photos soon. 🏚️

It’s March and that means we move out. I thought/ hoped it would be for 2 /3 months but we’ve had meetings about schedules of work etc and realistically we are out till Christmas or January. I’m trying not to let it get me down , it will be amazing once it’s done.
I’ve got used to living out here and I think we are going to find being back in Brighton a bit of a shock. The boys have so much stuff, the dog is too big , I’ve too much to do etc etc,
The house we are going to is nice , but small, it’s going to feel like living in a beach hut in comparison to here.
I slept badly last night thinking about how many parking tickets I will get when living back in town. - as you do. 😂.

Photos of February living here. Looking forward to coming back when we do . Must not wish the next 10 months away. Must enjoy the journey ! 😀🏚️
