This stylish couple knew they needed help to plan a Pittsburgh wedding while living in London…fast forward almost a year later, and we’re in the final stages for their contemporary, cocktail-style wedding at the in March! I can’t think of a better way to kick off the 2025 SK Events season! It’s going to be v. cool you guys….

Reflecting on one of my favorite experiences of 2024…planning and designing this styled shoot with such an incredible vendor team! I’d be lying if I said it didn’t challenge me to break out of my neutral-loving comfort zone, but nothing worth doing is ever easy right!?

This shoot was all about abundance - of color, patterns, textures, florals, food and drinks, and even desserts! I started with a color palette inspired by fresh produce, and the idea that food is instrumental in bringing people together especially in times of celebration. I hope you’ll fall in love at first bite for these details 🧡💙✨

Thankful for this little fam of mine 🤍🤍🤍

Blame it on Thanksgiving, but I’ve just been feeling especially reflective lately. I’m so grateful that since launching SK Events in 2022, I’ve worked with amazing clients, colleagues who I admire, and had countless experiences that have challenged my skills and inspired me to go further. I really like this version of me, and this life that I’m building, so I thought what if I just tell you a little bit more about her…

I’m Sara K (believe me that’s way easier than trying to pronounce my last name 😆), Owner and Lead Planner of SK Events. I’m the passionate, oldest sister who believes you should always have something to celebrate. I have a hard time controlling my facial expressions. There’s rarely a pop culture reference I don’t know. I’m 5’2”, but don’t mistake me for the intern. I’m always being told to calm down. I’m fiercely loyal and will champion my faves to the moon and back. I value communication, collaboration, and connection. I’m always looking for a better way to do things. I’m way more comfortable BTS. I’d rather meet for coffee. Quality > quantity. I’m secretly wishing your wedding is indoors. Dessert is non-negotiable. If not now, when. There’s no ME without them.

When it came to planning their wedding, Julianna and Luke emphasized that spending time with each other was their top priority. When I tell you it was the absolute sweetest to witness their genuine excitement and love for each other throughout their entire wedding day!

The details about a few of my favorite details from Landis + Tyler’s June wedding 👉🏻

1. In a surprise to no one, the flowers from were hands-down my top fave! The bright and whimsical designs added the perfect pop of color to the ceremony and reception.

2. L+T wanted to make sure that their family and friends felt appreciated, so they wrote personalized love notes for each of their 300 guests that we placed at the tables, along with their custom menu cards.

3. During the ceremony, the officiant provided a sweet moment for the bride and groom to look out at all of their guests, and just take it all in.

4. Before exchanging their vows, L+T passed their wedding rings through the hands of their parents and grandparents, ensuring the rings were infused with special love and blessings for the couple.

5. There’s nothing I love more than a packed dance floor, and thanks to the , this was one banger of a party! L+T asked me to help them carve out time to sneak away from the crowd, too, and I loved that they did that! It was great to see them being able to enjoy their guests while having some private moments together, too!

Let’s not forget, the details don’t just happen. To truly create a seamless, meaningful experience for you and your guests, you need an expert on your team. (enter, ME!) I’m passionate about translating your ideas and making them better, solving issues before they happen, and providing you with the space to live life while planning your perfect wedding day!
