Hey y’all so I know it’s been a minute 😳😱🤪 But I finally did some cosplaying again!! I went with my lovely Bestie as Crowley & Aziraphale from Good Omens! We had a blast at saw some truly incredible cosplays and spent way too much on art! (As one should 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻)

For DragonCon 2014 a group of us went as Apocalyptic Powerpuff Girls & Professor X! We had an amazing time designing and running around 😍 and Craig Parker and I got to nerd out about Legend of the Seeker and he asked to pose with my gun for our photo 🧨

The spookiest costume I ever made was my Zombie Thing 1 for Halloween 2010 🎃 My lovely bestie and I had a fantastic time running around being creepy and bloody 😈
This closet Cosplay was made of pieces and parts from Party City, Goodwill, and Universal Orlando 🌴🩸
Fall for Costume Day 12: Hats & Hair 🎩💇🏼♀️
So this one was pretty easy for me as my Steampunk Two Face cosplay from DragonCon 2013 perfectly fits the bill. 🤍🖤
This is still the biggest and most time consuming build I’ve ever done (as I made a full 3 piece period suit in alternating colors 😱) but I did have great fun with the simplicity of painting half of a Party City hat and teasing and spray dyeing half my hair while cleanly knotting up the other half in a bun.
I do LOVE hats though and I hope to do more Cosplay hats in the future 🤞✨
Fall for Costume Day 11: Pink
So shocking no one there’s not a whole ton of pink on my Cosplay history but I did find two of nerdy events past that fit the bill. The first is when I dressed up as Nymphadora Tonks with friends to go to the midnight premiere of the sixth Harry Potter movie (back when we had to take selfies with cameras in a mirror 👵🏻) The second is the only shot I could find of my Dora the Destroyer Cosplay which I had way too much fun with and absolutely no one got ✨🤣🔥

Fall for Costume Day 9: Details
So far the most detailed Cosplay I’ve ever made is still Punk Rock Bucky. I tried to find shots I hadn’t posted here yet. I had a blast sneaking little Easter eggs in every part of the Cosplay I could.
As I travel further down my cosplaying journey I’m finding that the details are where I find the most joy and creativity 🥰
Fall for Costume Day 7 & 8: Gothic & Glitter 🖤✨
Fell behind but I dug deep into the archive for these two 🤣 Gothic is my friends and I dressing up for the Sweeney Todd movie premiere in 2007 and Glitter is us dressing up for the Alice in Wonderland movie premiere in 2010.
For my Sweeney Todd victim I just used an old Halloween costume I had And had fun with the make up. For Alice in Wonderland I dressed up as the White Queen (since I’ve always been told I look a little like Anne Hathaway anyway). It was also the first movie premiere costume that I made parts from scratch. I covered a Charlotte Russe corset with white fabric, wore my Sweeney Todd dress underneath, and made a sparkly white over skirt. It was an absolute nightmare of a garment but the first ones you make always are 🤪
Fall for Costume Day 6: Ruffles
Ok so technically these are tucks not ruffles but this is so far the floofiest Cosplay I’ve ever made. It was my Steampunk Captain America that I made for DragonCon 2013!
So this was one of the first costumes I built entirely from scratch. I shopped the fabric, used a Simplicity pattern for the shrug and skirt (though I made my own alterations to the design to tweak it more to my ideal design), and added metal findings wherever I could ⚙️✨
Fall for Costume Day 5: Nature
Jack Frost can be counted as a part of nature right? ❄️ I LOVED Rise of the Guardians and knew I wanted to Cosplay as Jack the minute I finished the film. He was one of my cosplays on our DragonCon 2014 adventure 😍
I thrift shopped the base pieces then altered and painted them. My amazing friend made my staff which was so much fun to play with and “broke apart” in the middle for easier storage and transport. My lovely also went as Pitch Black 🖤
Fall for Costume Day 4: Blue
One of the movie premieres I dressed up for was the 2009 Star Trek premiere 🖖 Spock was always my favorite and I was a big fan of Zachary Quinto from the show Heroes (anybody remember that? 👵🏻) so I went as him and had a great time 🥰🎥
I shopped the costume from Walmart athletic wear and made the pin with foam, sharpie, hot glue, and a safety pin. The ears were a Party City special 🎈
Fall for Costume Day 3: Last
I don’t have photos of my last Cosplay (my closet Cosplay of a Bitch Planet inmate) cause I was too busy running around to take any. But this is the last Cosplay I fully built myself before the plague: Punk Rock Bucky 🤘🎸
Fall for Costume Day 2: First
So I made my first cosplay before I even knew what cosplay was. All my nerdy friends and I got together and dressed up to go to the midnight book release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in 2005. I went as Professor Trelawney and we all had an absolute blast 💕
This was before the movie so I designed what she looked like in my mind and my mom was kind enough to run me around Joann and goodwill so I could collect all the pieces/parts needed to cobble together my version of Sybill. I hand sewed the shawl into the shape that I wanted, drew the grim into the tea cup with a sharpie, and made my own version of the divination textbook that had quotes from Trelawney on every page.
My cousin was also visiting us at the time and dressed up as the perfect Minerva McGonagall 🐈⬛
Fall for Costume Day 1: Intro
What up nerds? I decided since the pandemic and economic chaos we’re living through has sapped my cosplaying inspiration I’d try out ‘s to try and infuse some life back into this page. So here goes!
So I got into cosplay by dressing up to go to midnight movie and book premieres in high school. My friends and I would go all out in both makeup and costume to sit in a theatre and lose our nerdy s**t over the latest Tobey McGuire Spider-Man film.
Then, my last semester of undergrad I went to my first con and FELL IN LOVE. I had an absolute blast and was hooked for life! My cosplays got bigger and crazier until I hit a skill wall. I wanted to be able to make anything my mind could imagine and I wanted to be able to work in the field that I loved so much. So I went to grad school for costume production. And six years later I’m a professional working in LA on the and film and cosplaying in my free time.
Hopefully when the world comes back so will my inspiration, but until then I’ll creating wherever and however I can 💕🧵
