Notice of judgement in favor of who sued Characters For Hire because they did not pay her for services that she completed. Cgaracters for Hire failed to show up to court multiple times (they were informed of this case on many occasions), so the judge ruled in her favor. Till this day, Characters for Hire still refuses to pay her.

SPECIAL EFFECTS ARTISTS and ACTORS BEWARE
The company, known as Characters For Hire, (primarily in new york) likes to avoid paying people AFTER services were carried out. (They have screwed over several freelancers through illegal activity on their end)
They occasionally post on craigslist because they've been banned from websites such as Mandy.com, Backstage.com, and more - these websites refer to them as SCAMMERS and warn us to stay away.
They use the "text-only number" 646-355-8855, and they advertise that they don't take calls.

"When i have tried reaching out to them in regards to getting paid, they ghosted me, they gaslit me - publicly claiming I was harassing them when I was asking about payment. To this da Im still left unpaid for months, years. They threatened me, blocked me, they never showed up to court when I sued them, and I've caught them in several lies and shady business practices. Ive NEVER had any issues with a company as bad as this. It sucks theyve done this to others. Exploiting freelancers is not okay, companies need to be called out for that behavior "

They only communicate through text, force people to write reviews in order to get paid, they don't have a real address, you cant publicly tag them on Instagram, they go out of their way (and pay) to hide negative reviews, even as far as blackmailing/threatening to sue for defamation - just some red flags.

Just be aware, and Help spread the word.
