Oh don’t mind me, I just swam up to shore to admire this human structure called a lighthouse!
I must say, the rumors about humans being afraid of the dark must be true as with so many of these dotting the shoreline, they function as a big nightlight for ships coming into port.
Had such a fun time exploring Mystic’s Seaport Museum the other day and learning a bit more about whaling in CT so many years ago.
My fun fact of the day that I learned: the name “cooper” originates from the title of someone who crafted barrels, and they did so inside of a “cooperage”.
Well back to the sea I go, and maybe spy on a boat or two that passes by 😄

Once upon a time… she dreamt she was a mermaid 🧜🏼♀️✨
On this day 10 years ago it was the day (after) I put on my first tail, and I could’ve only imagined how much of an impact that first tail would’ve had on my life. What was first a dream, then a hobby and now nearly a way of life in a way 😄.
August 2 was my 10th tailaversary and I can’t believe it’s been 10 years now! So to shellebrate (a wee bit late) I had to share a photo from my latest shoot with and oh mer gosh this was such a fun shoot! And an adventure of a day in of itself. I am abshellutely in love with these photos and can’t wait to show you fishies the rest soon!

Sometimes all I want to do in a day is just stare out at open water. There’s just something inherently relaxing about watching a river flow or the tide’s push and pull.

Been spending some of my free moments this past week swimming amongst the kelp forests with Prásinos.
He’s liked me shifting my scales to green more often to match his, and I must say, I’ve been getting much better at hide and sneak when I can camouflage better 😄

MerMay day 26 , a little fun fact about me is that I have a *small* collection of teas 😄 I have a few favorite brands, one of them being as they have a fantastical catalog of teas all inspired by fairytales, and I have at least one of every flavor, including their Little Mermaid and Sea Witch inspired teas, though my personal favorite is their Enchanted Slumber tea inspired by Sleeping Beauty. MerMay Day 18 is and today I’m sharing a watercolor painting I did of my mersona swimming through a kelp forest, with the plants being inspired by aquarium plants I found while researching for this. What people choose to leave behind, the poems they wrote, the architecture they built and the myths they told, tell so much about their culture and beliefs
I find it incredibly fascinating how people had such passion in their beliefs that they created monumental structures to celebrate them. One day I hope to be able to travel there and appreciate them in person. Until then, I enjoy imagining swimming in the waters they built many of their lives off of, from fishing and trading, to even the stories they told of what they thought they saw out there on the open water.

Dearest readers… today’s finally the day that Bridgerton season 3 comes out!! And this fishie is extremely excited to start watching part 1 later today. 🪻🌼🌷

I personally love watching fictional historical dramas, and the costumes in this! 🧑🍳💋👌🏼 Last summer I had the privilege of attending the Bridgerton Experience in NYC with my boyfriend and it was so much fun! Definitely hope to go to more events like it in the future!

Long ago, in the faraway land of ancient Greece, there was a golden age of powerful gods, extraordinary heroes and fantastical creatures. Famous among them were the nereids, beings that you today may refer to as mermaids.
Nereids were revered to be protectors of the sea and helped keep sea voyagers safe from treacherous creatures if they were favored by the gods.
Various myths theorize how the nereids functioned. Some believing that they were Poseidon’s personal elite army, though anyone who knows anything, would know that the nereids wouldn’t do anything just because they were told to by a male god. Some believing that they could even time travel based on stories by people who encountered them. What is known for sure is that there is 50 of them, all being various descendants of the old gods of the sea Nereus and Doris
Depictions of nereids can be found on various art forms- pottery, friezes and paintings. Often depicting the more notable members such as Amphitrite and Thetis and Galatea. And some depict nereids not yet well known to history.
MerMay day 14: I asked my friend to depict my mersona on an amphora 🏺 , a classic symbol of art from Ancient Greece. Also some exciting news: this will be a new sticker design I’ll be handing out, as well as available in sticker pack prizes that will be apart of a giveaway I’ll be hosting next month

Today’s my birthday! While I don’t particularly have any “big” plans this year other than going to class and homework 😅 but I have done some things recently to celebrate early with my friends, from a trip down to Spring Splash, going out for dinner downtown and getting up to some mermaid shenanigans at the beach this weekend, as well as next weekend my boyfriend is flying down to visit me! That last one is my favorite birthday present of them all 🥰

“I’m an action figure!” -Hercules 😄
Today’s post for Day 5 (and sorta 6 Dolly) is Toy, to which I had to reshare a commission from a few years ago by in which they turned myself, amongst other mers, into these sorta Polly Pocket esc toy packs. And I have to say it’s one of the most unique and fun ideas I had seen, and being a doll collector myself I of course needed this as a commission! 😄
Even after a few years I’m still obsessed with all the tiny details, to even the gold lettering of Prásinos on his saddle!
And yes I would love to have a sorta doll line inspired by my mersona or just my overall fantasy interests in general. And if that’s where life takes me after college, I would love to pursue it!
(Also side note, Spring Splash was mermazing!! And this post is late since there wasn’t much cell reception at our favorite mermaid oasis)

Shello fishies! 😄 just a fun video of me touching the bottom of the 12 foot pool. Have a wonmerful Wednesday! . Growing up I always tended to enjoy swimming to the bottom of the pool and just staying there as long as I could. Though after moving houses, I didn’t have as easy an access to swimming. So a goal of mine lately is to rebuild that ability to go deep and stay under as long as I feel comfortable. What has helped a lot is knowing how to naturalize my ears so the building water pressure doesn’t hurt. . But yea I’m continually proud to see how deep and how long I can go. When I have the time and money in future I’m definitely planning to get some underwater certifications. . Anyways fishies, wishing you a happy Holiwaves week! 🧜🏼♀️💕✨ .
