Me and lemon cocktails. A love story in 3 pictures 🍋
..And the recipes to start your own love 💛 affair 😉

1.LIMONCELLO SPRITZ
2 oz. limoncello liqueur
3 oz. Prosecco
4-5 oz sparkling water
Garnish with lemon slice and sprig of basil or mint (optional)

2. SGROPPINO
1/2 cup lemon Sorbet
1 oz vodka
4 oz Prosecco
Mix all ingredients together and pour into a frosted coupe glass. Garnish with mint or basil.

3. Me and lemon gelato in Sorrento last year.... we belong together *sigh

Get your margarita party on!!!

I'm sharing 4 fresh and tasty make-ahead appetizer recipes that pair perfectly with margaritas.

Serving up zesty shrimp ceviche, gooey quesadillas, crunchy plantain chips (seriously so good!) and my fave black bean and mango salsa.

😏Come to think of it....these appetizers go with anything really

Think chocolate mini chocolate eggs are addictive? Then try these Easter treats!

A sweet, buttery and creamy soft centre coated in rich chocolate. 🤤🤤

: Make them any time of year (just shape them round) for when you want to treat guests to something sweet.

Ingredients

· 1 cup unsalted butter
· 1 tbsp vanilla extract
· 2 tsp. salt
· 1 14 oz. (300 ml) can sweetened condensed milk
· 1.5 kg icing sugar
· 12 oz. semi sweet chocolate
· Icing (to decorate with)

Directions

1. Cream butter with vanilla, and salt until well blended.
2. Add sweetened condensed milk and beat until smooth.
3. Gradually add sugar until it becomes too hard enough to knead.
4. Knead on counter (well coated in icing sugar) until the dough is smooth and not sticky.
5. Roll into egg shape and place on parchment paper lined baking sheets.
6. Let dry overnight; turning once.
7. Melt chocolate in double broiler or in microwave until smooth.
8. Dip eggs into chocolate mixture to coat and set aside on parchment paper to harden.
9. Once set, decorate with icing, sprinkles, etc.

Granny Chic trend for Spring 🌸 Here's what you need:

✔️ Vintage tea cups
✔️ Pearls and lace doilies
✔️ A tea pot as a vase for centerpiece (I used silver service here)
✔️ Lots of colour
✔️ Mix and match plates

If you're decorating an Easter table (like I did here) sprinkle a few foil wrapped chocolate eggs and bunnies.

P.S You can find some really adorable vintage cups in thrift stores (mine were mostly gifted by my Nonna 💗)

The time I spray painted the Eiffel Tower gold....

A Throwback to last year's French Coco Chanel 💄themed Galentine's Day party.

The Eiffel Tower was a dingy thrift store find I spiffied up with a little spray paint to make a centerpiece.

I bought a beret JUST for this party... It's extra ANDDD I love it!

I'm back BAY-BEE! 🔥 Here's what my 30 day hiatus taught me:

My January break from biz and socials wasn't as scary 😱 as I thought it was gonna be

YES I felt FOMO
YES I felt selfish and lazy
YES, I worried biz would suffer and I'd miss out on opportunities

BUTTTTT.....

Slowing down and disconnecting helped me figure out what I REALLY want.

Because I admit it 🫣 so many times, I got caught up comparing what everyone ELSE was doing and what I THOUGHT people wanted from me. And somehow I wasn't doing enough and I wasn't doing it the "right" way.

I lost sight of what makes me special and how I can share my unique talents to encourage, entertain, and educate others.✨️

Sometimes you gotta disconnect to reconnect so I'm taking a break from socials and Joyful Hostess for the month of Jan.💛

At first it seemed like a crazy idea (I've never been away for that long😬) but the more I thought about it - the more I was excited about taking a break, to reconnect with myself, my goals and visions for 2024 and beyond.

🤷‍♀️Who knows what will come from it - maybe nothing, maybe everything - but either way I'm curious to see what happens over the next 30 days.

Big thanks for following along with me so far (I'm definitely gonna miss the fun messages and keeping up with everyone's adventures)

Wishing you a month full of JOY! I can't wait to see you and catch up with you all in Feb! 😘

Drink your dessert! 🥧A Pumpkin Pie Martini made with real pumpkin. That makes it healthy right??

With U.S. Thanksgiving happening this week -this JUST might be the cocktail to celebrate with.

Ingredients
1 cup of milk (you can sub for almond milk)
1.5 oz of Spiced Rum
.5 tsp of vanilla extract
2 tbsp honey
2 tbsp pure maple syrup
3 tbsp. puree pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling)
1/4 cup graham cracker crumbs
1 tbsp. pumpkin pie spice

Directions

1. In bowl, mix together graham cracker crumbs and pumpkin pie spice.

2. Lightly drizzle honey on rim of martini glass (for less mess, I used a pastry brush). Dip honeyed rim in the graham cracker mixture and set aside.

3. In a separate bowl whisk together milk, extract, honey, maple syrup and pumpkin puree. Strain with a fine strainer and set aside.

4. Add ice to shaker and then add milk mixture and spiced rum.

5. Shake well to combine and pour into prepared martini glass.

6. Sprinkle with a little more pumpkin pie spice and serve chilled.

Thinking of bringing flowers as a hostess gift this season? ❌️DON'T : Take her away from her hosting duties to hunt for a suitable vase and arrange the flowers. ✅️DO: Make it easy for her to show off those beauties right away by bringing them arranged and ready to go in a container. That little extra thought goes a long way and will be super appreciated! I wish someone had given me this advice years ago! It would have saved me so much stress and anxiety - I hope this helps you too!💛 1. Invite or Don’t invite whoever you want. 🏠 It’s your home, and you decide who’s worthy of your precious time and energy. Have people you feel obligated to invite (but don’t really want to) 😬 you have 2 options: a) Don’t invite them. I know this seems impossible but it's really not. The hard part is being ok with accepting the consequences or you can move on to the 2nd option⬇️: b) Invite them and limit your interactions (name cards on the dining table to arrange seating not only looks pretty but will help you strategically seat them further away from you😉) 2.🎂 Using store bought/ready made items isn’t a cop out – even the greats like Ina Garten swear by these time-savers. Believe me, you can have a lovely holiday without everything being made from scratch. 3. Ask for help.🤝 Give yourself permission to take some of the pressure off. You’ll find that most people are happy to pitch in! 4. Take time for yourself.💆‍♀️ It’s not selfish. So mark some time in your schedule to plan your outfit, give yourself a facial, go for a walk. Whatever you need to help you feel good before you host (and sometimes just closing your eyes for 10 minutes can do wonders!) 👉The point is: when you feel good and relaxed, your guests will feel good too and then everyone can have a good time!🥳 5. Stop focusing on perfection (that’s BS and an impossible feat).
