One of my favorite design elements to focus on is texture. Dimension and texture can make the eye dance, like when it sees a well-composed photograph. At this reception table, we have fluttery blooms in dimensional color, draped delicate sheer silk, letterpress stationery, gold calligraphy, scrolled place cards, patinaed silver, soft linen, melted glaze earthenware china with ruffled edges, sparkling crystal, and the sweetest butterfly accents for a pop of color and dimension.

This year, we awoke to a white Christmas with blankets of snow. While a much quieter Christmas than we’re used to, I actually loved peacefully baking while Christmas classics played, candles flickered, the snow fell, and the house filled with the scent of cinnamon and nutmeg. I’ll never forget my first trip to Paris. Paris fit like a glove, and I was surprised by how at-home I felt.
I was so relaxed, but so inspired. I felt like myself, but better. I was less afraid to hope and let my mind wander dreaming, just as I wandered the streets for hours.

Dreaming of today and all the beautiful things to come in 2021. Did you know the Ritz Paris has a garden central to the hotel? Designer Theirry Despont who took a lead role in the hotel’s upgrade described the Grand Jardin as a “private open space in the heart of Paris that was like an uncut diamond.” The Versailles-style garden paired with the storied walls of Ritz Paris make it an exceptional choice for your wedding venue.
