Cutest kittie cat party this weekend for one of our favourite little girls.

These little cookies nearly broke my nerves, but they were so worth it.

Here at Aitsa! we love a good snack. One of our favourites on the go or for a party bag is a kinder chocolate bar, they are wrapped in paper and come in a cardboard box so can be recycled - watch out though as the packaging isn’t always recyclable, we only buy the smaller ones that are wrapped in paper. We also love that they are for kinders (kids), kinder to nature and just kind of cool really. It’s also a good conversation starter for spreading kindness.

Playing around today…putting a few ideas together for upcoming parties, using a few basics.

The first is for a kitty party, what a cute little theme.

The second for a super cute little one year old’s dinosaur party.

Thirdly, just still my obsession with medieval knights and princesses 😜.

Can it possibly be … it’s almost October!

I’m starting to feel vibes of autumn, harvest and nesting.

I’ve started thinking about holiday crafts, Halloween baking, pumpkin pies and cosy table scapes.

Are you there yet or does the idea of pumpkin spice lattes make you feel a bit queasy 🤪?

Today a bunch of lively year ones sat down to a medieval banquet to remember.

Their home made paper party bags had recyclable crafts from and the girls got beautiful hair accessories made by .

It was a mammoth collaboration of parents to bring this group of kids a joint birthday party to make up for the parties they missed in lockdown.

Party bags 🛍 Love them hate them? Generally I am not the biggest fan, I like a bit of free flow and not to have the waste, but for a big gathering and with Covid still around its probably the safest option.

Beware though as a lot of party bags and boxes are made of single use plastic or can be lined with film that’s not recyclable.

As an alternative these brown paper sandwich bags with a themed design can look great too. It can also be a fun activity to colour the bags at the party. Even better, draw directly onto the bags if you’re confident enough.

It felt like the longest year in so many ways, still I cannot believe the school year is over.

Hats off to all teachers, so many of you went above and beyond to help children learn from home and were incredibly patient and understanding with parents who had zero clue how to teach. I salute you all, and wish you a relaxing summer break.

Both our main teacher and TA is expecting a baby so it was a no brainer to make them each a peppermint and lavender roller ball. During both my pregnancies heat waves meant terrible headaches and this mix helped so much to stay refreshed.

We made paint splash cards and I even managed to get my son to write one card and his name in all the others. I asked him to say something nice about each of his teachers and we made biscuits together with a little note on for them. He loves baking and was involved with every step of the process.

Bring on the holidays, camping, play dates, city breaks, ice cream, craft, swimming, bike rides, baking and probably way more screen time than they should be allowed to have.

Teacher gifts. What are you all doing? I can’t believe my little one is nearly through his first year of big school.

His teachers wrote the most beautiful things about him and I’m bursting with pride!

When he finished pre-school I actually had the time to make these biscuits. I can tell you this…they’re damn hard to make. My suggestion is think about it early and book to do them for you.

My son is a lazy writer so we will be baking our thank you cards to teachers this year, not sure exactly how yet, but he loves baking and I enjoy baking with him.

Do remember to check if your teachers have any dietary restrictions. Ours is dairy free so I’ll have to adjust my recipes a bit (I’m definitely a teeny tiny bit French 🧈😋).

dōTerra to the rescue. I started using the dōTerra Air blend and Tea tree oils years ago for colds and cold sores and they are brilliant!

And now, finally, I’m exploring some of the others too. Thank you to for helping me and for the warm welcome and all the information so far!

I’m looking forward to trying things like
-soothing my toddler’s hey fever with lavender, lemon and peppermint
- making my own hand wash with On Guard blend
- Making teacher gift peppermint roller balls
- and and and

If you’re ever in Newquay be sure to visit the amazing ! It is not in the main shopping area, but well worth the extra 5 mins in the car and there’s seating inside and out, so you don’t have to just take away your cakes. You can also visit the beautiful gift shop and a pretty awesome wine shop next to it.

I don’t easily recommend a cake shop as I’m extremely picky, but every single thing was amazing.

We were camping and had a little afternoon tea in the campsite - where we found the staff to be extremely rude by the way.

Do also make your way to in Newquay for great coffees and crisp decor and for the most gorgeous Californian style home and wardrobe garments.

Overall I found the Newquay high street disappointing with many of the surf shops selling the same thing and it definitely lacks interior and stylish gift shops, but the beaches are gorgeous, the people friendly and if you’re as lucky as we were, the sunshine warm.

Cheering up a little boy after a hospital procedure (and of course calming his mother) is easy at places like this.

It’s a bit drizzly on and off today, so with a poorly boy who felt a bit extra fragile today we were really glad to sit inside today. Thank goodness for the reopening of hospitality.

We’re gonna party like it’s 2021!

It’s finally time to have parties again. We are all way more careful, but that doesn’t mean we should have lots of plastic.

Hiring a party kit means you can still have colour and fun, without the landfill of printed plates, cups and single use plastic banners and wrappers.

Get in touch to see if .party can help you make your little one’s party extra special.

Pulp fiction brekkie. Racy? Maybe. Action packed? Definitely! Cheap? Well, not expensive really. Our four year old’s breakfast looking super sleek in this little glass milk bottle and action packed with healthy goodies, perfect with a juice pulp muffin.

We’re battling some serious skin issues and with fussy eaters in the house, I’ve started experimenting with juicing (and Lego bribing 🤭), but it’s going well.

I’m on a bit of a baking strike...it’s super hard...trying to cure a hopelessly sweet tooth (possibly addiction 🤔), but yesterday the kids really wanted cake so I tried some juice pulp muffins and they’ve come out pretty good (but my recipe needs a bit of tweaking). They’re stacked with fruit and veg pulp and oats for fibre and sweetened with honey.

This morning my monkey celebrated 20 days of juicing with a treat juice made of carrot, apple, pineapple and orange with his muffin. My high five juice and tiny coffee tasted pretty good too. 😜

Getting into the spirit of Spring. A bit of Easter decoration, Easter egg mousse trial and planting seeds until the hay fever kicked in 😥😪🤧.

1. Window drawing done with pen copied from .t.shown_home ‘s Easter chalk decoration last year. 🐰🖍
2. Easter eggs halved (trickier than I thought by the way) and filled with a simple dark chocolate, egg and butter - no sugar because the egg shell is milk chocolate - mousse and topped with mint candy (to be done with crushed mini eggs for Easter). I’m toying with a trio of mousse dessert idea 🤔🍫🍒🥂.
3. Tomato plant seeds planted in recycled fruit tray and in toilet rolls to avoid those little plastic planting potts and to teach the kids about recycling, especially since it was World Recycling Day this week. ♻️🌍🌱

Last week I did a doodle class with the fantastic creative lady . I had so much fun.

You don’t have to be an artist to create. Myro taught me to let go of being a perfectionist, that doodling is about having fun, and letting go of anxiety and stress.

Making your own cards or art is not only cost effective and more environmentally friendly than buying plastic wrapped cards at the supermarket, it’s fun, unique, personalised and just special. Give it a go. 💜

Today we finished school work early, for the first time and instead of cleaning, clearing up my house that’s looking more and more like a nursery floor on a rainy day and a reception class or cooking a healthy meal for my family 😳I baked a cake! I’ve been eyeing this carrot cake recipe since the magazine came out. Sadly we used the orange I bought for it to make a bird feeder for forest school 🌲, so I adapted my good old favourite recipe and topped it with the Waitrose frosting.

Now the house smells great, like cloves and cinnamon and freshly baked cake and we’re waiting for dad to come home so we can eat it!

Here’s to a restful weekend with no school work 🥂.

This week one of our favourite people had a birthday. I only have boys so every opportunity to spoil little girls ends up being pretty girlie indeed (even though I’m not incredibly girlie myself) 🙈.

I’ve recently started learning how to sew and made similar aprons for my kids in class. - thanks for teaching me, for the foreseeable future all the kids I know will be gifted these 😜. I can’t wait for Covid to go away so I can have class again.

Oh, se’s also getting my last Mü & Me card bought in South Africa. She’s worth it, but I hope I do hope that I will be able to pick up some more on my next trip to see family and friends down South.

I was today years old when I figured out how to properly pop popcorn!

I always ended up with unpopped kernels or burnt ones, but I read something about the internal temperature of chocolate when tempering and wondered if that makes a difference when popping popcorn too...it does! First I heated the oil, then I left the kernels in the hot oil for about 20 seconds before placing it back on the heat...et voila...perfectly popped! Most probably know this, but I didn’t and it’s life changing for me 🙈.

Now I just have to find popcorn flavouring in the UK, so far I found only find the stuff in picture 2 and it’s imported from the States.

We’re having a movie afternoon, we just about survived another week of home schooling, but literally just. I hope you’re all hanging in there.

Cabin fever anyone? Wow, it’s getting a bit much now. It was a gorgeous day today and thanks to my early bird husband we were on the road soon after sunrise for a drive through the Peaks and had a quick 🛷 session. It was breathtaking. And of course there then was a snowy bbq for lunch.

Even though a big party would have been lovely to celebrate the new year, having something special with just my husband and boys turned out to be great. We made pizza on the bbq (outside ❄️) and had a disco ball and snowflake projector on in the garage where we partied while making and eating pizza. We played, danced, laughed and lit sparklers until we felt a bit cold. We then went inside to a festively decorated table to raise a glass to the new year and have some sparkly pudding.

It’s been a tough year for us all. For some it’s been devastating while others discovered themselves. Whatever yours I think we are all looking forward to seeing and HUGGING our friends and family.

My wish for the new year is hugs, lots of it, things to celebrate and good health for the world’s general health, mental health and economic health. May your new year dreams come true x

Are you feeling gutted about Christmas? I sure am crying my eyes out about not seeing our friends and family who lives either abroad or in Tier 4. I’m hanging onto silver linings, such as wonderful nearby friends and media that brings us all together even when we are tiers apart. Slowly I’m actually looking forward to it a bit more and ‘practised’ our Christmas Eve table.

I hope you manage to dig deep and still find that festive spirit somewhere inside.
