Spectacular Scenery Is What We're All About!

Just under a month till we're back again, we thought we'd remind you all just some of the spectacular places our network of free buses service. This was seen on what will now be out X12 bus service this year, with the bridge in the background where our equally scenic 565 operates.

We'll be kicking off our vehicle entry line-up for this year on the 1st September with a bus type some of you may not have seen for some time, quite literally a whopper of a bus! Make sure you are following our page so you see our vehicle announcements posts and have Sunday 17th September free so you don't miss out on what will be an epic day out for all the family!

Welcome to the Community BusDays Group official page.

Our team are responsible for the very popular Halifax Heritage BusDay event that takes place each September and are always getting involved with our friends at museums and other preservation groups to help make their events possible too. We are always expanding our portfolio of events and our volunteering team with this so if you are interested in joining us then don't hesitate to drop us a message for an application form!

On this page you can find shared details from our main events as well as volunteering opportunities and other activities our team get up to. You can also use this page to inquire about future event ideas, partnerships, sponsorships in our event programmes and anything else related to our events planning team.

Our first bus leaves tomorrow at the Halifax Heritage BusDay from Halifax Albion Street at 10am. Programmes available on the day to support the event for just £4!

More exciting vehicle entries for our BusDay on Sunday 11th September!!

We are very excited to welcome Optare Vectra bodied MAN M702 RVS to our event this year! This will be the vehicle's first trip north in many years and we thank the owners who are undertaking a bit of an adventure to support our heritage bus services on the day. This will be the first time this bus has been in Yorkshire since it operated with Easi Rider in Huddersfield!! This bus will be operating our Denshaw via the Pennines services on the day.

We are also still accepting any further vehicle entries to cover any of our last couple of duties available at the BusDay this year. If you/your group are interested in helping us at our community focused event please don't hesitate in popping us a message!!

Another Day & Another Amazing Entry!!

As we continue the countdown to the action packed Halifax BusDay we are very pleased to announce another lovely entry to our in service bus line-up!

31787 is a Volvo B7TL Gemini new in 2003 as one of the first of the type to FirstGroup based at Halfway Garage, Sheffield. The bus operated the frequent 41 service for a short while before moving to Glasgow where it would spend the rest of its service life. Upon withdrawal, the bus was purchased by a few members from the South Yorkshire Transport Trust and has been restored to its original 'Orange 41' branding.

This vehicle will operate on our local services throughout the day and will provide a lovely sight seeing one of these in older barbie livery returning to the town! The full allocations for the duty this bus is on will all be available in the events programme for just £4 on the day!!

Not long now till our very popular Halifax Heritage BusDay takes place, remember to save Sunday 11th September in your diaries!!

Explore Saddleworth Moor at our Halifax Heritage BusDay!!

As we begin to count down till our big free bus event on Sunday 11th September, we are very excited to showcase some of the amazing places you can visit using our free bus services.

For 2022 our NEW explorer 565 service will take you direct from Halifax Town Centre to Saddleworth Moor at the heart of the Pennines. With double deck buses that will allow you to marvel at the beautiful scenery including the Moors themselves and the stunning Scammonden Bridge high above the M62 motorway. You can also hop on and off the bus at Pennine Way car park and properly explore the area with buses running hourly throughout the day.

Travelling further? Buses will continue to Denshaw where you can change to our 562 service and travel back to Halifax via Sowerby Bridge and Ripponden too. Make sure you don't miss what will be an amazing day, buses running from 10am at Albion Street in Halifax Town Centre with event programmes including all the timetables available on the day for just £4!

Welcome To Community BusDays!

We are a volunteer led group of individuals set on creating amazing days out for local communities across the UK using a selection of preserved heritage vintage buses and coaches. With our main annual event been the Halifax Heritage BusDay that takes place each September, we specialise in using preserved buses on bus routes that link local communities into our event as well as to lovely locations in the local area. Our team are always working on new and exciting events of which you can find details of on this page.

Our team also supports events organised by other groups across the country and are actively encourage local community groups to get in touch if they are interested in bringing on our amazing BusDays to their local area.

As we expand so does our team and we are always on the lookout for enthusiastic new talent to join our large group of friendly volunteers in the BusDays family. Please send us a message if you'd like to get involved with full training provided and its perfect for your CV too!!
