We are delighted to welcome Stephen Carter, OBE, to the board of The Marcliffe Hotel and Spa as a Non-Executive Director.

Stephen is a highly respected leader in the five-star hospitality sector, known for his exceptional ability to oversee refurbishment and investment in high-profile hotels. With over fifty years of experience in the Hospitality and Tourism sector, Stephen has made a significant impact on the industry. He was awarded an OBE for services to the hospitality industry in 2007, and he has also received VisitScotland's Silver Thistle award for outstanding contribution to Scottish Tourism.

Stephen Carter commented: “I am honoured to join the board of the Marcliffe Hotel and Spa and work with The Balmoral Group's Board of Directors under Sir James Milne's leadership to develop the well-established reputation of this renowned hotel into the future. Together, we aim to create a unique Aberdonian welcome that will benefit visitors, residents, and Scottish tourism.”

📣 Exciting News: A new chapter for The Marcliffe Hotel and Spa

We are delighted to announce that Balmoral Group has stated its intent to acquire our beloved five-star hotel.

Together with the Balmoral Group and the Spence family, we are dedicated to ensuring a smooth transition for continuity and stability. There will be no changes to our existing staffing, and all current events, weddings, and hotel bookings will proceed as planned.

As an investor who operates market leading businesses in energy and commercial property, Balmoral Group has appointed Effective Hospitality Management (EHM) to work alongside our dedicated team to operate the hotel.

We are excited about this new journey and look forward to continuing to provide you with the exceptional service you know and love. Stay tuned for more updates.
